The night passed peacefully.
The next morning, Camryn snuggled up to Callum as she felt the cold before she was fully awake.
Mornings at the manor were colder than those in the city.
In addition, they did not close the windows but simply had the thick curtains down.
That was why Camryn found it cold once the chilly morning air drifted into the room.
It was also raining outside. The rain had lowered the temperature and announced the arrival of winter.
After a week of chilly days, the temperature had increased. It had been hot days with the sun shining brightly as it did in summer. Wiltspoonians only had to add another layer of clothing during early mornings and late nights.
However, the rain turned the weather cold again.
Callum brought Camryn closer to him and tugged on the blanket without opening his eyes.
He only woke up a few minutes later due to the sound of the rain.
No wonder he felt the cold.
Callum pecked Camryn’s cheek before getting up stealthily. He went to the window and pushed the curtains aside. The cold wind and droplets of rain greeted him.
He immediately closed the windows and curtains.
“Is it raining?” Camryn asked the moment Callum sat by the bedside.
“Yeah. It’s raining. Are you awake already? It’s still early. You can sleep more.”
Callum only knew about it because Zachary had let it slip once.
Callum never thought a person as serious as Zachary had so many tricks up his sleeves. He had Serenity eating out of his hand.
The public often commented that Zachary was an extremely doting husband. He lived to please his wife and was under Serenity’s control. However, the opposite was true as well. Not even ten of Serenity could compare to Zachary’s tricks and ideas.
“Wiltspoon doesn’t snow. Forty Fahrenheit at night is about as cold as Wiltspoon can get all year.”
Camryn added, “You mentioned taking me up north to look at the snow yesterday. I had a dream about snow last night. I dreamt of us building snowmen and having snow fights. We had a lot of fun, but Carrie appeared in the end. She charged at us like a madman and destroyed the snowmen we built.
“She also scolded me in my dream, and her gaze looked as if it was laced with poison. That was when I felt the cold and scooted closer to you. I woke up after that.”
“I’ll definitely take you to the northern countries to look at the snow once your sight has fully recovered. If Carrie dares to ruin our snowmen, I’ll bury her in the snow. She can become a real snowman. Didn’t I teach her a lesson in your dream?”
