Zoey wanted to have a heart-to-heart talk with her daughter. “You get along very well with Julian, and you can talk freely. He’s sincere about you. Just calmly think about it for a few days, and then you can give him a response.”
Quinn nodded, but with a worried expression, she said, “Mom, do you think Julian might just be after something novel? His family is so wealthy, a scion of a prestigious family. He must have seen countless beauties, probably close to a hundred. I might be pretty, but I don’t think it’s my appearance that captivated him.
“Could he just be playing around? Maybe he’s sincere now, but after marriage, he might change his mind, cheat, or have mistresses. I can’t accept that. By then, even if I beat him up, I won’t win. Being far away in Wiltspoon, it’s too difficult for you to rush over and support me. What should I do?”
After contemplating for a moment, Zoey said, “This, it’s really hard to say. However, marriages depend on how you manage them. If both of you are devoted to it, such things shouldn’t happen. But I don’t know if his parents will approve of you.”
The Crawford family was well-known in Summervale, not necessarily for great wealth, but for the renowned Power Fitness. Of course, the Crawfords were well-off; although not worth multi-billion, there was still some wealth.
Compared to the Bucham family, there was a considerable gap.
In case Julian’s parents don’t approve of the Crawford family...
“When you went to Wiltspoon, did you meet his parents? How did they treat you? If they were warm and welcoming, there might be some hope. But if they were indifferent or polite, they probably wouldn't think highly of you.
“If his parents disapprove, then let’s not try to climb too high. Your dad and I are willing to support you for a lifetime. We don’t want you to marry into a place where you’ll be mistreated or looked down upon.”
Zoey scoffed, saying, “That’s just talk. Potential mothers-in-law are all like that. Their sons have yet to marry, so as long as their sons get married, it's fine. Once their sons are married, they start being picky.
“They’ll tell their sons that any woman is fine at first but when they see their son genuinely interested in a girl, they start being critical.”
Quinn asked with a grin, “Mom, are you like that too? You have two sons.”
“I’m not like that. Once your two brothers get married, I’ll have them move out. They can come back here to eat, but they shouldn’t live with us. Keeping a distance prevents conflicts. That way, everyone is at peace.”
