Kevin entered the pantry.
“I want water instead, Kevin.”
Hayden was thirsty.
“Okay.”
Soon, he brought her a cup of water with a smile.
Hayden found it funny. “Why are you looking at me like that? Do I look like a stranger?”
“I think you were super cool just now, Hay. It’s true.”
Hayden glared at him speechlessly. She sat and took a sip of water. After hydrating herself, she turned on her computer and said, “My gender is my problem. I don’t think I owe them any explanation. The questions will only keep coming if I entertain them.”
“You’re right. But you said they’d have their answer a year later. Is it what I think it is?” Kevin asked with a smile.
He was thinking about them being officially husband and wife a year later. If he worked hard, there would be a mini him or her growing in her womb. When that time came, the answer to whether Hayden was a man or a woman would be obvious.
Hayden did not reply to him. She said calmly, “You can think whatever you want.”
“I’m definitely right. It’s obvious. I’m going to brew coffee for you.”
Kevin, who was elated, turned and left to make his beloved woman coffee.
Hayden muttered, “What a pervert.”
However, she did drop him hints. She could not blame him.
Although he would often make dirty jokes, he had always been respectful toward her. He would never make a move unless she gave her consent. Whenever that happened, he would hold nothing back until he was satisfied.
After some time, he said, “I’m your brother. We were born from the same mother. I’m being harassed, and my phone is about to explode from all these calls, but you don’t seem to pity me at all.”
Then, he turned nosy and asked, “Should I call you my sister or brother now? You revealed your true gender by showing up in a dress at the banquet. Are you planning to get married to Kevin?
“Don’t say yes too quickly. Let him court you for two or three years more. Keeping yourself out of his reach will only make him cherish you more. Make him please me, his future brother-in-law, at least. I’ve never seen such an arrogant pursuer. He didn’t even try to get on my good side.
“If you’re going to return to living as a woman, you should befriend more young men and make Kevin feel threatened. Haha, he’ll be angry and anxious.”
Hayden winked at Hugh.
Kevin was walking toward with a cup of coffee.
“There are many more excellent men in Jensburg. You don’t have to marry someone from Wiltspoon. You’re my only sister. If you move to Wiltspoon, our parents and I will rarely see you in the future. Traveling will be a hassle too.
“Not to be dramatic but you might not even reach here in time if Mom and Dad wish to see you before they pass. How regretful will that be? Give the talented young men of Jensburg a chance. Although they might not have a family background like Kevin’s, they live much closer.”
