“I’m a little hesitant about it now, Mom.”

Upon hearing that, Sophia said, “Don’t hesitate. You’re a girl. You’re allowed to dress up as one. You’ve worn men’s clothing for more than twenty years. It’s time for you to switch back. Think about how happy Kevin would be if he could accompany you to the banquet while you’re in a dress.

“When that time comes, everyone will realize that you’re actually a woman. No one will criticize you and Kevin’s relationship anymore. Many people have come to me, asking me to stop you from dating Kevin. They mentioned he was ruining a good child like you and that you must have changed your dating preference because he kept bugging you.

“I wanted to retort that you two were absolutely straight, yet you refused to return to being a woman. Since I couldn’t reveal it, I had no choice but to hold back and distance myself from those who gossiped about it.

Mr. and Mrs. Queen were under a lot of pressure.

They could ignore what outsiders said simply by distancing themselves, but they could not do the same to relatives.

Sophia could only say that her children were all grown up. As a mother, she would not interfere with their decisions as long as they were happy.

Hayden replied, “You can decide everything for me. I’m free tomorrow evening. I’ll go back to try out the dresses and shoes. I’m so used to dress shoes that I probably can’t even walk in heels. I have to practice walking in them so I don’t make a fool of myself in public.”

Sophia laughed. “You’re right. You do have to practice. People who are not used to wearing heels become desperate to take them off after walking several steps. One evening might not be enough. Can’t you take the entire day off? Hugh can handle the company.

“That rascal isn’t dating anyone now. He should do more work. You can leave some work to him and make some time for yourself.”

It was worrying.

Luckily, Hayden was changing after falling in love. At least she was willing to try wearing a dress.
