Callum shouted angrily at Carrie and told her to get lost. He grabbed anything within his reach and threw it at her.
She was utterly shocked and quickly made herself scarce.
Although she ran fast, a few dishes hurled at her managed to hit her back. It hurt a lot.
Carrie escaped like her life depended on it and only dared to stop when she got far enough. After waiting for some time, she returned to her car and drove to the place she rented. When she wanted to apply medicine, her back hurt so much that she had no choice but to get treated in the hospital.
The procedure took time as she had to queue up. She did not expect to come across Zachary and Serenity when she was finally done.
Although they did not have their bodyguards around and wore masks and sunglasses, Carrie heard Serenity’s voice. The voice of the person she despised most was etched into her mind.
“Just wait and see, Serenity, Camryn. I’ll let you experience the pain I had gone through tenfold.”
Carrie heard that Serenity was pregnant.
There was no announcement made by the Yorks, but everyone guessed that Serenity was pregnant as she had not taken a sip of alcohol at her wedding.
That woman was lucky.
Carrie was going crazy with envy.
After her release, Carrie heard from her aunts that Serenity had not gotten pregnant despite already being married for some time. Most people speculated that she was infertile.
It must have not been easy for Serenity to get pregnant. She would feel utterly satisfied if she could think of a way to make Serenity miscarry.
If she could also make Camryn barren, would Callum still love her forever? Would the Yorks accept that he and Camryn could not bear children for the rest of their lives?
Carrie had decided to look for Mrs. Clark for only she could give her some brilliant ideas for her evil plans.
She called the number again, but the outcome was unchanged. The number no longer belonged to Mrs. Clark.
“What does this mean? She said she’d give me a chance to prove myself and gave me this number. Now that I want to contact her, I can’t reach her.”
Carrie wanted to smash the phone out of fury.
She kept scolding Mrs. Clark for scamming her, for giving her hope but was in the end a letdown.
While Carrie was cursing Mrs. Clark, a janitor walked over and knocked on her car window.
Carrie was in a bad mood. When she saw it was a janitor, she lowered the window and greeted with a stream of expletives.
