After a pause, Belinda added, “You should stay at home and take care of the company and family matters. I hope you can produce good results.”

She wanted to investigate her nieces’ whereabouts in Wiltspoon.

Rumors had it that Audrey Stone was her eldest niece. She appeared not to be aware of it but she was simply pretending to do so.

Zachary’s wedding presented an opportunity for her to conduct a thorough investigation.

Caroline asked Belinda, “Will you be heading there alone? What about Dad?

“I thought of accompanying you there. Wiltspoon is a big city with many business opportunities. Should we expand our family business there?”

Caroline visited Wiltspoon but it was done secretly. Her mother discovered evidence of her expenses there.

Luckily, the fact that she had met with the Stone family was still hidden, and so was her gift delivery through Darren to Liberty during the opening of her new restaurant.

Otherwise, the hawklike Belinda would have guessed her motives behind meeting Audrey.

As for Caroline's DNA test with Audrey, Audrey did not inform her of the results. There was no way she would let Belinda know too.

Caroline knew Belinda had already suspected Audrey was her niece and was only acting. Her trip to Wiltspoon would probably last half a month.

“Despite that, we were heavily affected and started going downhill.”

Belinda was in high spirits when she mentioned the past and the Fisher family’s glorious history. It sounded as if she was the sole contributor to it all.

“I’m old now. My strength will run out in a few years. I used to place all my hopes on Celine, but she isn’t biologically ours. No wonder she can’t compare to you despite all my efforts in training her.”

Although Caroline had only been back with the family for a year, Belinda sensed that she was a natural at business. Since Caroline was pretending to be incompetent, Belinda simply played along and made people think her daughter was useless.

Belinda also utilized a common misunderstanding that she still loved Celine and not Caroline to her advantage. It was meant to reveal the true colors of ambitious people and train Caroline. The mess she created while she was the matriarch would have to be resolved by Caroline in the future.
