Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2308

Hayden ordered her driver to stop the car when she saw Caroline.

“What happened, Ms. Fisher? Is there a problem with your car?” Hayden rolled the windows down and asked Caroline.

Caroline turned around when she heard someone speaking to her. When she saw Hayden, she walked over. “My car suddenly broke down and I don’t know why.”

“I’ll have my driver check it out for you.”

Hayden instructed her driver to examine Caroline’s car. The driver was not only cool-headed and mature, he was also good at driving and repairing cars.

Hayden got out of her car and her bodyguards followed suit.

After the driver inspected the car, he told Caroline, “Ms. Fisher, I think you should get your car towed. I can fix cars, but I don’t have the necessary tools now.”

“It’s okay. I’ve called for a tow truck to take my car to a workshop.”

Caroline had already contacted the car service center when Hayden saw her.

The driver seemed hesitant to voice his thoughts but Hayden and Caroline caught onto his reticence.

Hayden said sternly, “You can speak your mind.”

“Mr. Queen, Ms. Caroline’s car was probably tampered with.”

Hayden fell into deep thought, but Caroline’s expression was unchanged. Perhaps she had already guessed it.

The driver said carefully, “They probably wanted Ms. Caroline’s car to stop working while you’re on the road, but their motive is unclear.”

Usually, those who tampered with another person’s car intended to orchestrate an accident to disguise a murder. However, cases like Caroline’s were rare. Perhaps they intend to only teach Caroline a lesson and not take her life.

Putting aside the Fishers’ family situation, she thought Caroline was a good match for Hugh. Unfortunately, he had no feelings for her.

Fate was a tricky thing and relationships could not be forced; love could either be there or not at all.

Caroline’s luck was not bad. Although several roads had minor traffic congestion, they were able swiftly to get through them.

Hayden’s chauffeur drove quickly and steadily. When they arrived at Jensburg Hotel, Caroline had five minutes before her appointment with the client.

As she got out of the car, she said to Hayden, “Mr. Queen, I can’t repay you now as I’m in a rush, but I’ll treat you to a meal another day. I have to head in now.”

Hayden smiled. “Don’t mention it. Good luck.”

Caroline thanked her again and rushed into the hotel.
