Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2305

It was evening by the time Hayden and Jacob’s discussion ended.

“I look forward to working with you, Mr. Rowling.”

Hayden stood and they both shook hands. Jacob smiled and said, “Likewise.”

“Let’s have dinner together, Mr. Rowling. My treat.”

Hayden looked at the time and invited Jacob, but he declined apologetically, “Thank you, Mr. Queen, but maybe another day. I have to be home for dinner tonight to celebrate my fifteenth wedding anniversary with my wife.”

“You definitely have to accompany your wife then. I’ll treat you to a meal another day.”

Hayden did not force it and saw Jacob off to the first floor.

“I’m good on my own here, Mr. Queen. Have a good evening,” said Jacob as he stopped at the building entrance, not letting Hayden see him off any further.

Hayden remained on the spot until she saw Jacob’s car leave the company.

“Mr . Queen.”

“Mr. Queen.”

It was time to get off work and Hayden was the only one heading back in while most people were walking out.

Those who met her greeted her respectfully, but she could feel everyone’s gaze looked weird.

She sighed when she thought of Kevin who was waiting in the VIP lounge on the top floor.

The questioning gazes were understandable.

“You should head upstairs, Hayden. Don’t let Mr. York wait for too long.”

The one thing Hugh feared most was his sister nagging him about his circle of female friends. He quickly made his escape once she started harping about it.

Hayden was speechless when she saw Hugh running away as if his life depended on it. Nevertheless, she could do nothing.

Feelings could not be forced. It was pointless nagging Hugh anyway because he had no feelings for his close female friends.

Although Hayden took a liking to Caroline as Hugh’s potential partner, he did not like the idea.

Besides, Caroline did not view Hugh romantically as well.

Ten minutes later, Hayden was back on the top floor.
