Liberty arrived at All You Can Eat Restaurant. The doors were already opened for business by the manager she hired while the employees were at their stations, ready for the lunch hour rush.
“Ms. Hunt.”
“Ms. Hunt.”
Everybody happily greeted the boss upon her arrival.
Yesterday was the restaurant's grand opening. The business was great, and everyone was excited to welcome valuable customers.
They believed their future was bright with a boss like Liberty, and could expect a better income or a promotion if they worked hard.
If Ms. Hunt were to expand her restaurant chain, the first employees could potentially be assigned to managerial roles in the new branches. Everybody was highly motivated by this.
Liberty nodded with a smile.
She entered the kitchen to check on the purchased grocery, making sure the ingredients were of the finest quality. She then returned to her office.
Liberty would rather earn less than compromise on good ingredients.
The breakfast diner and restaurant were both her babies. She wanted to operate the businesses with integrity, but at the same time, she was worried her inadequacy at the job might harm her sister’s reputation.
To protect the reputation of Serenity, and by extension of the Yorks, Liberty was particularly strict in management. She made sure to personally inspect the purchased ingredients.
Liberty had not sat down for long when there was a knock on the door. She lifted her head and saw the manager standing outside.
The manager informed, “Ms. Hunt, Chelsea is back.”
Chelsea?
Olivia checked out Liberty’s office and said, “Liberty, it’s nothing really. Your restaurant’s grand opening was yesterday, but my husband and I couldn’t make the time to attend. I thought I should drop by since I have time today. The décor is beautiful here. I’m sure business will be good.”
Liberty smiled. “I only did some light furnishing. Thank you. I hope the restaurant will do well too.”
“Um… Liberty, would it be possible to arrange a long-term lunch and dinner takeaway from your restaurant? We would love for you to deliver the food to us. We are sick and tired of the food in the hospital, and we have tried all the fast-food joints nearby. You’ve always been a great cook and Hank needs nutritious meals, especially during his recovery. I thought if he ate food from you, he might get better sooner.”
Liberty did not refuse. She pulled out two business cards from a tiny box on her desk and handed them to Chelsea and Olivia.
“Mrs. Brown, the number to order the meals is on the business card. I have the recommended dishes printed out on the back too. You can call the restaurant to order whatever you fancy. We do deliveries too.”
However, Liberty would not be handling the delivery.
The mother and daughter duo probably had not given up.
