“I don’t like the idea of seeing this woman. We don’t know if she’s dangerous or not,” Gavin told me. “It’s not something I’m willing to risk.”
“Not even for your own daughter?” I asked.
I was clouded with disbelief. How could he say such a thing? This was his daughter, for crying out loud. I knew I shouldn’t be arguing with him while I’m hormonal like this, but I really couldn’t help myself. I was upset and hurt…and desperate for answers.
“It’s too dangerous,” he said, his tone softening. “I need to protect my family.”
“These dreams are getting worse,” I blurted before I could stop myself.
“What are you talking about?”
“The dreams I’ve been having,” I reminded him. “They’re more frequent…they’re longer… they’re worse.”
“Okay?” He asked. “What does that have to do with anything?”
“Cora might be able to shed some light on why I’m having them in the first place,” I told him. “I can’t explain it… But I have a feeling everything is connected. I know it’s a long shot and I know we might walk away with more questions than answers, but I know in my gut that I need to talk to this woman.”
I stepped closer to him, placing my hand on his chest and feeling his steady heartbeat against the palm of my hand.
“I need you to trust me. I would never put our baby… our family… in danger. Please, Gavin…”
He stared at me for a long while, and just as I thought he was going to say no, he let out a breath and ran his fingers through his hair.
“You’re not going alone,” he finally said, frustration clear on his face. “I’ll be coming with you. As will Erik. You aren’t to be alone with that woman for even a second, understood?”
I nodded, way too eager.
“Yes, I understand,” I tell him.
“I don’t like this,” he admitted. “But if you think it’s necessary, then I trust you.”
I wrapped my arms around him and pressed my lips to his, kissing him deeply and affectionately.
“I do find it necessary,” I murmured against his lips. “You’ll see.”
I didn’t miss the way he tensed, and I peeked up at him to see him flexing his jaw.
“And you think Coraline knows who it was?” He asked.
I shrugged.
“From what Selene said, Cora was wise, and she knew things. It’s worth asking her,” I told him.
He was quiet for a long moment, maybe processing what I had just said. But when he didn’t say anything more, I looked up at him with a frown. He looked lost in thought.
“What is it?” I asked him, reaching up to rub the crease between his brows. “You seem lost.”
“Zachary is afraid of someone, kind of like your birth mother was,” Gavin told me, making my heart stop in my chest. “He won’t tell us who’s after him. But he’s hoping this merger will protect him and his family. Apparently, whoever is after him wouldn’t dare touch the Landrys, so he thinks if he allies himself with me, it’ll stop them from coming after the Blackwell family.”
“And you think whoever is after the Blackwells was after my mom, too?” I asked, my eyes widening as realization dawned on me.
“I think it’s worth finding out.”

Magnificent book! True that you skipped through scenes that I believe you would have written beautifully about, like Judy's Luna ceremony and their wedding, not to mention Declan's birth and the family adjustments all around. Yet still, it couldn't take away from the master piece that this literary content actually is. Good job....
Thanks for this wonderful book...
Is the story complete? Gonna leave us on chapter 734 ?...
