After hours of travel, my airship landed in Austin,
I retrieved my phone, receiving a message: I am at the landing. Where are
you?
“Just arrived.”
As I replied, I saw Jake at the terminal. He was impeccably dressed, a porce

I was stunned. My mischievous childhood rival had transformed
“Astounded?” he teased. “After we are bonded, you may gaze upon me all day”
I rolled my eyes. “Your vanity is undiminished.”
He took my luggage, opened the carriage door, and placed it inside. He
smiled as he drove.
“Do I not deserve such vanity?”
I fell silent, observing his sharp features. He was incredibly handsome, and I

He didn’t believe me. The last time he’d seen me was when I left for college,
and he’d waited for six years. He knew I was returning, but not the exact day,

covered his mouth.“Grandpa, do not say that!”
But I did feel guilty.“I apologize, Grandpa. I shall not leave again. I shall

He shook his head.“Do not speak idly. All I desire is for you to have a blissful union. As long as you are content, I can rest in peace.”
“Grandpa, do not say
that!”
Hearing him speak of death, I felt even worse. I knew he would depart one day, but I wished that day would never come.
