Rebella stared at James, her eyes dazed.

“I… I’m so confused!”

“It’s alright,” James chuckled. “Just follow my instructions. You’ll have to take some risks, but eventually, you’ll understand why I’ve asked you to do these things.”

Rebella blinked. “Um… What about Truett and the other War Kings?”

“Keep this from the War Kings for now,” James continued. “As for Truett, he’s not the right person for the Grand Steward’s position if he can’t see through a simple trick like this.”

Rebella sighed and lowered her gaze.

“I guess I’m the only fool in the group who doesn’t have the slightest clue!”

“No.” Xezal turned her eyes to Rebella. “There’s also Wyot and Clayton.”

Rebella was struck speechless.

James clasped his hands behind his back. “You two will need enough power and skills to complete your upcoming missions.”

He lifted one hand and cast two beams of path source, shining with sacred light, into Xezal’s and Rebella’s bodies.

The two ladies shuddered slightly before assuming seated positions in mid-air. They swiftly worked on absorbing and optimizing the new powers.

A short while later, intense amounts of Hadufen Light emanated from Xezal’s body. She radiated an aura at the Supreme Emperor’s level as her powers increased.

Meanwhile, Rebella shone with a pink light all over and spun slowly. Her aura had been elevated to a path king’s level.

Eventually, the two of them opened their eyes. Both ladies were surprised and delighted by how much their powers had improved.

With a little help from James, they now had powers surpassing even those of the Jademora Empire’s experienced grand patriarchs.

“This space exists without a time limit.” James straightened his back. “You two can stay here and use this chance to refine your powers. When you head back outside, it’ll still be the same moment you first came in here.”

Then, he pointed at Xezal. “You should teach this innocent lady more things instead of spending your time plotting schemes. After all, she’s risked her own life to protect you.”

After saying that, James teleported and vanished from the spot.

Rebella and Xezal quickly got to their feet and glanced around.

“He left just like that?” Rebella muttered gloomily.

Xezal teased her, “He only has eyes for his wife. Besides, do you honestly think the lion and the mice belong together?”

Rebella fell silent. After a brief pause, she shot a glare at Xezal. “Who are you calling mice here?!”
