Those gathered in the main hall were the strongest humans.
Everyone stared at James, who was wearing a mask.
“Is that James?”
“Didn’t he die in the battle a hundred thousand years ago? How is he still alive?”
“Yeah, he should be dead.”
Many discussions took off.
James slowly removed the mask from his face and casually threw it aside.
Xandros exclaimed, “James! It’s really you.”
Holding onto the Crepe Myrtle Divine Sword, James shouted, “Stand right there.”
Xandros immediately halted in his tracks.
James pointed the Crepe Myrtle Divine Sword at Xandros and questioned furiously, “Why didn’t you tell me the truth?”
Xandros knew James was talking about Thea. He sighed softly and said, “Let me explain, James.”
“Is explaining going to fix anything?”
James was heartbroken.
“I risked my life fighting for humanity. I never hesitated to fight and sacrifice myself in the deepest part of the universe. But the woman I love died before me to become the Ancestral God Rank Elixir, yet you hid the truth from me?”
Xandros explained, “Thea asked me not to tell you. She was the last part of the Ancestral God Rank Elixir that we were trying so hard to find. The Ancestral God Rank Elixir could only be activated if she transformed into the final missing part. She wanted me to tell you after the Fourth Calamity was over. Unfortunately, you died in the battle, and I never had the chance to break the news to you.”
Xandros felt very guilty about it.
Therefore, he had been watching over and teaching Jacopo all these years. He even considered Jacopo as his successor as the future Human Realm’s Lord.
James did not say much in response. With a flash, he appeared before Xandros and pierced the Crepe Myrtle Divine Sword through Xandros’ body.
James withdrew his long sword, and blood gushed from Xandros’ chest.
Since things had already come to this, there was nothing he could do to turn things around. Thea would not come back to life even if Xandros did not fight back and died willingly.
“James…”
Xandros did not leave to treat his wounds. He could see the despair in James’ eyes and knew he was in great sorrow.
He immediately comforted James, “You don’t have to be too sad, James. The Thea of our age is just a soul fragment of her true soul.”
James’ eyes immediately lit up with hope, and he asked, “What do you mean?”
Xandros explained, “During the Primeval Age, the human Ancestral Gods took a trace of Thea’s main body’s soul and integrated it into the Ancestral God Rank Elixir. What I’m trying to say is that Thea’s true self might still be alive.”
“Primeval Age?”
James was startled.
