“Oh, James…”
Bryce called out.
He was slowly approaching James and Thea.
Soon, he was within James’ field of vision. Seeing that James was treating his injuries with Thea standing beside him, he breathed a sigh of relief before saying with a smile, “I knew that you’d have no problem surviving a jump off a cliff.”
James remained silent.
Bryce walked over to him and asked, “How are you feeling?”
James opened his eyes and looked at him weakly. “My injuries are rather serious. I need time to heal. Why don’t you return first? Once my I recover, I’ll meet up with you at the Mount Thunder Sect.”
“I…”
Bryce briefly hesitated before saying, “James, I think it’s better if I help you up.”
Glancing at him, James nodded slightly. “That works too.”
Bryce then walked over to him.
James slowly got up with the help of the Blade of Justice.
Bryce helped him up and said, “I’ll take you out of here first. Once you’re safe, I’ll return for Thea.”
“Sure.”
James nodded.
“Let’s get going, then.”
Grabbing James by the arm, Bryce catalyzed True Energy and began to scale the cliff.
However, at that moment, James pulled out the Blade of Justice and pierced Bryce’s body.
“You…”
Bryce froze. His eyes bulged, unable to believe what just happened.
Anger flashed across his face.
Bryce never imagined that James would attack him.
“Unfortunately, we’re from different sides, after all,” James said coldly.
James did not wish to ambush him either. However, he was Lucjan’s confidant. As such, this was the perfect opportunity. After getting rid of him, he would have one less enemy at the Mount Thunder Conference.
“I’m sorry.”
James raised the Blade of Justice and stabbed Bryce a few more times.
Bryce now lay in a pool of blood, motionless.
After killing Bryce, James staggered a few steps back before collapsing to the ground.
Thea hurried over and helped him up.
Then, James sat in a lotus position and catalyzed the healing cultivation method.
