The office door opened, and Alicia looked at Natalia, who was making a scene outside. "Miss Natalia, I heard about your father's passing from poison. I've been so swamped with company matters that I haven't had a chance to offer my condolences. I wonder what brings you here at a time like this?"
Alicia played dumb, her expression calm as she watched Natalia.
Natalia glanced at the people blocking her way, then fixed her gaze on Alicia. "I have something to discuss with Miss Shelton. It concerns Lynch Corporation, and it concerns Easton. Are you sure you want me to say it out here?"
Natalia's haste in coming to find Alicia wasn't a sign of decisiveness, but of a lack of composure.
Alicia's biggest worry had always been Shaw. The old fox was incredibly difficult to deal with, and Alicia had often worried that Easton would be no match for him.
What a shame. A cunning, sophisticated man, undone by his own daughter.
Alicia smiled faintly at Natalia. It was a perfect example of karma.
"Come in," Alicia said, letting Natalia into her office.
As soon as Natalia entered, she got straight to the point. "I'm here today to inform you. Tell Easton to transfer half of his Lynch Corporation shares to my name and hand over control of the company to me."
Alicia laughed out loud at the demand. Natalia, however, remained perfectly confident, clearly believing the leverage she held was enough to make Alicia and Easton submit.
"I'm just his sister-in-law, not his mother. If you want Lynch Corporation's shares, you should go to him. Coming to me is pointless." Alicia smiled at Natalia. "Besides, Easton and the Edwards family have already announced their engagement. They'll be married soon. He's an adult, and he doesn't need his sister-in-law to make decisions for him anymore. You could try discussing it with the Edwards family."
Alicia's expression instantly hardened, and she shot up from her chair. "Natalia, this isn't a funny joke."
Seeing Alicia's fear, Natalia's confidence soared. She stood up and faced her. "The Edwards family would never let their daughter marry a man with AIDS, would they?"
Alicia clenched her fists, her fingers trembling. "Why should I believe you? Easton is perfectly healthy."
"We both know it only takes one time to ruin a life, doesn't it? As long as they were intimate, and he didn't take preventative measures immediately… he's definitely infected." Natalia continued to terrorize Alicia. "Alicia, if you don't want me to leak this to the press, if you don't want me to ruin Easton, then convince him to transfer his company shares to me. I want at least half…"
Alicia didn't speak, her face pale.
