The head of the Edwards family is a sly old fox—always sharp, always discreet. Over the years, the Edwards family managed to stay under the radar; while they weren’t hit nearly as hard as everyone else, they also kept themselves out of the spotlight. But here’s the thing—when the Quinns and Lynches were being played for fools and dragged through the mud, and one family just happened to be untouched, it starts to look a little too convenient.
Tyrone was convinced this was all part of someone’s plan—to make people suspect the Edwards family on purpose.
Whoever was pulling the strings wanted the spotlight on the Edwardses, not because they were a real threat, but because it was the perfect way to turn the other three families against them. Once the attacks started, all suspicion would fall on the Edwards family, forcing the others to band together and go after them, while the true mastermind sat back and reaped the rewards.
Ultimately, the goal was clear: tear down all four families and rebuild Harboridge City’s business world from scratch.
“As you said, the Edwards patriarch is a master manipulator,” Tyrone muttered. “He’s a pro at avoiding risk and stirring up trouble between others. The more people suspect the Edwards family, the more others will start to question that suspicion. Sometimes, the safest place to hide is in plain sight. The old man’s made it obvious—that’s why he pushed his son Connor out as the face of the family, leaving himself free to pull the strings from the shadows.”
Sean Quinn, however, had a very different take.
He believed the Edwards family was the one orchestrating everything behind the scenes.
“My dad always said Keeley Edwards is as cunning as they come,” Sean said, his tone cold. “The Edwards family made their fortune by muddying the waters and swooping in when everyone else was distracted. They started out with nothing but a few loyal friends, then stabbed those same friends in the back to get to where they are now.”
Sean’s eyes locked with Tyrone’s, and the tension between them was almost palpable.
Neither was willing to back down.
Both men were power players—charismatic, forceful, and utterly unyielding. With their opposing theories, the air in the room felt heavy, almost suffocating.
