Chapter 58 Project Being Snatched

Jeremiah couldn’t seriously believe that the divorce would never happen just by avoiding me, could he?

He had the Cornell family backing him and Elsa by his side. Both parties were people I could use to my advantage. If I wanted this divorce, I had plenty of ways to make it happen.

After leaving the courthouse, 1 headed home right away.

But to my surprise, as I arrived at my doorstep, I found Jeremiah pacing back and forth with an anxious and restless expression

I had waited for half a day at the courthouse, yet he was now waiting for me at my door.

How ridiculous.

1 ignored him completely and was about to go inside when he rushed over like a madman and grabbed my wrist.

“It’s you, isn’t it? Jane, I thought that even if we were to separate, we’d still have some old feelings left for each other. But you’re so heartless, trying push my family to the brink of ruin!”

I frowned as I pulled his hand off. “What’s your problem? Your family is in trouble because you guys brought it upon yourselves. What does that have to do with me? Besides, I haven’t even settled the score for you not showing up at the courthouse today. What gives you the right to accuse me?”

But he wouldn’t have it. His jaw clenched so tightly that I could almost hear his teeth grinding, and his eyes burned with fury as if he wanted to devour me. “Even now, you’re still playing dumb! If you hadn’t complained to Eric, he wouldn’t have suddenly snatched Cornell Group’s key project!”

“Do you have any idea what this has cost us? Cornell Group is on the brink of bankruptcy!”

I was momentarily stunned. I remembered him mentioning the key project. It was a collaboration with a foreign medical company with annual profits reaching billions.

“What the hell are you doing? My heart sank, and I instinctively began to struggle.

“Let go of me!”

At the same time, I reached for my phone to call the police, but he noticed and immediately slapped my phone out of my hand before carrying me into the

villa without hesitation.

He threw me onto the couch, and before I could react, his massive body was on top of me.

I used to love the clean, fresh scent on him, but now, all I could smell was a disgusting, nauseating odor.
