Liliana looked momentarily dazed. "Your studio?"
I nodded, suddenly realizing she had no idea my studio was LunaGlo.
"It's LunaGlo," I explained with a smile. "You've probably heard of it."
Her eyes widened instantly.
It took her a long moment to process before she stammered, "Y-You mean the LunaGlo? The one that's huge overseas and recently started expanding locally?"
I nodded. "Yes, that LunaGlo. You're not imagining things."
Her expression flickered between shock and excitement as if she couldn't quite believe it was real.
"But I just graduated not long ago," she murmured, still doubtful. "And I have to take care of my dad… Can I really do this?"
She couldn't believe something like this was happening to her.
I understood. Going from despair to hope felt way too surreal, like a dream too good to be true. But I needed her to know this wasn't just some fleeting illusion. This was real.
"I know all of that," I said patiently. "That's exactly why I don't want to let talent like yours slip away. If you join my studio, you can design from home while staying with your father. I can also arrange for the best caregivers in the country to help.
"As for the bone marrow transplant, I've already contacted the hospital to speed up the matching process. I believe we'll get good news soon."
The moment those words left my mouth, Liliana completely broke down. Overcome with emotion, she threw her arms around me and sobbed uncontrollably.
I gently patted her back, listening as she choked out "thank you" over and over again.
She only pulled away when the alarm on her phone chimed, signaling it was time to go.
Sniffing, she wiped her face and glanced at my now-damp shoulder, then gave me an embarrassed little smile. "I… I'm so sorry…"
He studied my expression for a moment, seemingly surprised. "You don't look the least bit angry. Why do you seem… happy?"
I grinned, arching a brow. "Because I am happy."
Then, I told him everything about Liliana. By the time I finished, I leaned back in my seat, still smiling. "Tell me, don't you think I have a good reason to be happy?"
Eric nodded. "Definitely."
A playful glint flickered in his eyes. "And since you're already in a good mood, how about I give you another reason to be even happier?"
My curiosity was instantly piqued. "Oh? Let's hear it."
Eric cleared his throat dramatically, drawing out the suspense before finally revealing, "Cornell Group's shares have already dropped by 10%."
