Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 214

I took the documents and quickly flipped through them, nodding slowly.

Ned's taste in scripts was indeed impressive. Two of the scripts had the potential to become major hits.

I pulled those two out and handed them back to him. "These two. Let's invest in these first this year."

Turning to Heather, who was rapidly typing on the keyboard, I said, "Heather, keep an eye on the production company."

Seeing the confusion in her eyes, I slowly said, "In the next couple of days, I want you to get things in order and report to the subsidiary. You'll be in charge of that company from now on. The transfer order will be official by Wednesday afternoon at the latest."

Hearing the news, Heather's eyes widened in surprise. It seemed she hadn't expected such a major promotion.

She had originally thought she would be a small employee at Brown Group until retirement.

But now, in just a few months, she was going to be promoted to manage the subsidiary. Excited, but also a bit worried, she asked, "Ms. Brown, do you think… I can handle it?"

I walked over and patted her shoulder. "Of course, you can. I believe in your abilities. I'll also assign some more experienced people to help you out. You've always been into celebrities, right? Now's your chance to make that dream come true.

"However, you'd better do well. Otherwise, I'll bring you back here and make you work for me again." I pretended to threaten her.

Heather laughed, her eyes full of gratitude. But in the room, there was another person nearly losing his composure with emotion.

Ned stood there, holding the two scripts I had handed him, choking on his words. He didn't know what to say.

It wasn't until he saw me entrusting Heather with the production company that he finally regained his composure, his face full of gratitude. "Ms. Brown—"

I waved my hand, cutting off his thanks before he could speak. "If you want to thank me, don't bother. As long as you two work hard and live up to my expectations, that's all the thanks I need."

I glanced at the time, slightly puzzled. "Why are you up so early today?"

Eric sighed as he looked at me. "You're the one who woke up late. I was just thinking about whether I should go up to wake you. Today is the bidding event. We need to be at the venue before 8:00 am. Did you forget?"

Hearing this, I gasped in surprise and hurried back to get ready. There was so much to do lately, and although I knew the bidding event was coming up, I didn't realize it was today.

I rushed through washing up and doing my makeup, not even leaving time for breakfast. I got into Eric's car straight away.

Luckily, there was still time. Even though it was clear that Flint Group would win the bid, it still wasn't good to be late.

As soon as I got in the car, a cup of hot coffee was handed to me.

I turned and met Eric's gentle gaze.
