I turned to face Eric, my eyes lighting up with surprise and delight. "Of course. I love it! I didn't expect you to like this kind of design too!"
Eric smiled. "What if I told you that I learned about your preferences in advance and designed it just for you?"
Hearing this, I froze, momentarily at a loss for words.
Seeing my reaction, Eric chuckled and added, "Relax, I was just teasing you."
I subtly let out a sigh of relief. If he had really designed the entire villa based on my personal preferences, then the implications would be far too overwhelming for me to even think about.
I got lost in my own thoughts, failing to notice the way Eric was looking at me—his gaze deep and unreadable.
A moment later, he spoke again. "I know you don't like having too many people around at home. So, aside from the usual cleaning and cooking staff, I'm only keeping Edith here. If you need anything, just ask her."
I turned around, and sure enough, a woman was waving at me from a distance.
"Thank you." I lifted my gaze to Eric.
The fact that he valued my feelings so much left me unexpectedly touched.
Before he could say anything, my phone suddenly started ringing. Feeling a little embarrassed, I took it out and saw Levi's name flashing on the screen. The moment I picked up, his confused voice came through.
"Jane, why aren't you home? Didn't you say you were going to inherit your family's business? Weren't we supposed to go over some studio matters?"
My eyes widened in shock.
Crap! I was so caught up in everything that I completely forgot about the plans I made with Levi a few days ago.
I let out an awkward laugh and glanced at Eric before explaining, "I moved."
Eric seemed to notice my internal struggle, and before I could react, he pulled me into his arms.
His voice was low and coaxing as he said, "However long he takes today, you'll have to make it up to me threefold in the future, okay?"
I had no idea what he actually meant, but somehow, I instinctively nodded.
When Levi arrived, Eric had already let go of me. But just to provoke Levi, he deliberately held my hand when opening the door. As expected, the moment Levi saw this, he lost his mind.
"Jane?" He rushed forward, practically shoving us apart. He looked at me with a face full of concern. "Why did you move here?"
Before I could answer, his eyes darted between me and Eric, his gaze finally fixating on Eric's loungewear. A flicker of shock flashed across his face, and his voice dropped as he cautiously tested the waters.
"You can't be… Jane… Are you and him…"
