Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 165

Aside from raising an eyebrow and sneering, Eric didn't react to Elsa's aggrieved display. She bit her lip and turned around to face Jack with a pitiful look on her face.

As expected, Jack took a step forward. "Get the hell out here, Jane."

I chuckled and came out from behind Eric. "Is it time for you to stand up for your precious sister again?"

Jack was stunned momentarily, and his expression darkened. "You've brought immense shame to the Brown family!"

"Shame?" I sneered. "How am I shameful in any way? Why don't you take a look at the lady standing behind you before you make such accusations about me? She seduced Jeremiah when he and I were still married. From the looks of things now, she's trying to seduce my fiancé too.

"Everyone in Brown Group knows about her affair with Jeremiah. Both of them even hide when I go to the company. Isn't that true?"

Jack heard what I said and instinctively turned around to look at Elsa. When he met her pitiful gaze, he turned back and faced me again.

"I believe in Elsa. She wouldn't do anything that would hurt the Brown family's reputation." Jack glared at me intensely and snarled sinisterly.

"Unlike you! Countless reporters are focused on the alliance we forged with the Cornell family through your marriage with Jeremiah. Are you aware that your divorce is going to have huge implications for both families?

"Worst of all, you're marrying into the Flint family this soon. Have you ever thought about how the public will talk about you and the Brown family?"

I felt utterly speechless. Jack had certainly improved his game when it came to the art of speech. It might've sounded as if he was looking out for the Brown family, but the truth remained that he was just belittling me.

My lips curled into a grin. "The loss caused by the share price's decline will be far less serious than the one caused by your investment failure. You should study how to run the company when and if you smart up instead of following Elsa around like an imbecile and letting her play you for a fool.

"If it's possible, I'd love for Mom and Dad to do a paternity test. Judging by your intelligence or lack thereof, it seems unlikely that you're their son."

Eric, Levi, and I were the only ones left.

Fortunately, the hospital wasn't too far away from here. It only took the ambulance several minutes to arrive at the courthouse entrance, and the paramedics put Eric on a stretcher before loading him into the ambulance.

I followed them anxiously, and Levi also took off after me. Just as both of us were about to climb into the ambulance, the paramedic stopped both of us.

"We only have room for one of the patient's family members. Who's going to ride with us?"

I turned my head sideways and looked at Levi. It seemed like he had a lot of things to tell me, but he eventually sighed when he glanced at Eric, who was already in the ambulance.

"You should take it, Jane. I need to deal with something at the studio. So, I won't be going to the hospital."
