Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 127

Jeremiah clearly hadn't expected Elsa to show up here as his voice was full of surprise.

When Jeremiah asked, Elsa looked confused and innocent.

"I suddenly wanted some dessert from this place. It was just a spontaneous craving. I didn't expect to run into you guys."

I smiled subtly, not exposing her.

"Can I sit here?" Elsa stared directly at me with a pitiful look. It was as though I'd be the villain if I refused.

Before I could say anything, Jeremiah said first, "Of course. Sit down."

At his words, Elsa's face lit up with joy. She shot me a provocative glance before calling the waiter to bring over a chair.

"I'm so glad you two are here. Otherwise, eating alone would have been really lonely." As she said this, she even managed to muster a touch of sadness.

I raised an eyebrow at her performance, smiling as I said, "If you're lonely, why not call Jack to join you? Even if you wanted something to eat late at night, I'm sure Jack would go with you. Why didn't you call him?"

Elsa laughed awkwardly. "Jack has his own things to do. I can't always bother him."

She stole a glance at Jeremiah, and her voice took on a hint of coyness. "And this place means something different to me. Someone very important brought me here back then, and I only want to come here with him."

As soon as she finished speaking, I saw Jeremiah's expression shift uncomfortably. His lips involuntarily curled up. I instantly felt nauseous.

I put my knife down and wiped my mouth.

"Are you talking about your boyfriend?" I asked.

Elsa immediately shook her head. "No, not at all. Just someone very important."

Instantly, he changed his attitude, his expression softening. He turned to Elsa and reassured her, "Jane doesn't mean anything by it. Don't take it to heart."

As soon as he finished, he called over the waiter and ordered a few desserts. "These are all your favorites. Have some sweets. They'll make you feel better."

Elsa shyly nodded, but when her eyes met mine, her gaze was almost brimming with provocation.

"Jeremiah, I'm just worried Jane won't forgive you. If you two fight because of me, I'd feel so guilty." As she spoke, tears seemed to well up in her eyes.

Just as Jeremiah was about to speak and comfort her, Elsa suddenly looked up. "Jeremiah, I forgot to bring my medicine. You have it in your car, right? Can you grab it for me?"

At the mention of this, Jeremiah instinctively glanced at me.

Before I could respond, Elsa immediately gave me a pleading look. "Jane, please don't misunderstand. I just want Jeremiah to grab the medicine for me!"
