Before Sophie could even get a word in, Sandy had already whisked her over to one side of the deck. Not too far away, Colby watched as Sandy led Sophie away, and he couldn't help but furrow his brows. There they go again, stealing his wife away for some girl talk. What on earth could they possibly have so much to chat about?
Sandy leaned in, whispered something in Sophie's ear, and Sophie nodded with a serious look. Sandy then asked, "Are we good to go?"
"I think we're set," Sophie replied.
With Sophie’s go-ahead, Sandy let out a sigh of relief and motioned for Colby to join them. "Hey, brother-in-law, come on over!"
Colby made his way over to the pair. Sandy gently nudged Sophie into Colby’s arms and said, "Sophie’s keen to learn surfing, but she’s a newbie. I've got two surfboards ready, so how about you teach her?"
"You want to learn how to surf?" Colby asked, a bit surprised.
Sophie had never mentioned surfing before. "Absolutely!" she said with enthusiasm. "I’ve never tried it, so I thought, why not? I'd love for Mr. Colby to be my coach."
"Sure thing," Colby agreed. If Sophie was interested, there was no way he’d turn her down. Sandy gave a playful grin and stepped back.
In no time, the staff brought over two surfboards for Sophie and Colby. "It’s a bit risky here. Let’s move closer to the shore, and I’ll show you the ropes," Colby suggested.
After a moment, Colby noticed they had ended up by a small island. Right then, Sophie opened her eyes, causing Colby to pause in shock as she led him off the boat.
From the yacht trailing them, Sandy, Jenna, and Adler waved energetically. "Colby! Enjoy a couple of days here! We’ll swing by to pick you up the day after tomorrow!" Adler called out with a wave.
Colby didn’t even get a word in before Sophie said from behind him, "This island belongs to Sandy’s family. We’re all alone here. Now… isn’t that something to be happy about?"
Seeing Sophie’s cheeky grin, Colby couldn’t help but feel a mix of fond exasperation. "You… Please, don’t pull stunts like that. You gave me quite the scare."
