Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1840

Colby was the first to notice something was off while they were still in the car. Playing the part of a customer, he slipped into the barber shop and swiftly drove a razor into his target’s throat. Meanwhile, a crew of ten bravely stormed the warehouse to rescue their captive.

Looking back, it's wild to think how fearless we were back then. One command and we’d throw ourselves into the line of fire without a second thought.

Odie took a long drag on his cigarette, letting out a slow stream of smoke. “Man, we were so young…”

He vividly recalled that winter night, the three of them cornered in a shadowy alley overseas. Those were chaotic times, the streets crawling with outlaws. They fought tooth and nail for two exhausting hours.

“Colby, damn it... Now we're stuck here!” Odie panted, shooting a dark look at Colby beside him.

Griffin frowned, “You’re the one who bolted off on your own. If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t be in this mess.”

“Who asked you to follow me? I could’ve handled them myself!” Odie shot back.

“Big talk for someone who’s trapped,” Griffin replied coolly. “Let's see you get us out of here first!”

In the alley, their opponents were armed with iron bars. Falling into the hands of another gang meant no rescue from Mr. Elwood. They could only sit tight, waiting for the inevitable.

As their foes closed in, Colby muttered, “Time for Plan B.”

“What Plan B? Have you lost it?”

Odie had no clue what Colby meant by Plan B. He was familiar with other plans, but this was new to him.

Griffin sighed, “Plan B, retreat is the best option.”

“Colby! Keep up!” Odie shouted as he and Griffin pushed through.

A second’s delay and their escape route would’ve been history.

Colby dropped a guy with an elbow strike and sprinted after Odie and Griffin.

They ran for what felt like ages. Only when they were sure they’d lost their pursuers did they finally stop.

Odie collapsed to the ground, gulping air. “I’m done. Those guys can really run!”

Griffin, with a cool demeanor, said, “It’s not them; it’s you. Keep this up, and the boss’ll drop you in a few months.”
