Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1823

“Alright, leave it to me!” Jenna sprang up from her chair, full of energy. “I'll take care of Gordon. You and Harold head to the party!”

“Jenna, maybe we shouldn’t—” Sophie started, but Jenna cut her off. “Oh, come on! Trust me, when have I ever let you down?” Jenna grabbed Sophie's arm, pulling her to her feet.

Before Sophie could even think of protesting, Jenna whisked her out to the car. “Relax, Sophie. Gordon’s a friend, he’ll listen to me!”

Just then, Harold showed up, right on time. He found the two women in the middle of a whirlwind. “What are you two up to?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Hey, Harold, you’ve got your driver’s license, right? Take my car and get Sophie to the party.” Jenna tossed him her keys before he could get a word in edgewise.

Harold glanced at the keys, bewildered. What was all this about?

“Go on!” Jenna urged, nudging him along. Harold shrugged and turned to Sophie. “Alright, let’s get going.”

Sophie kept glancing back at Jenna as they walked away, not entirely convinced. Jenna just flashed her a reassuring peace sign.

Half an hour later, at Aldridge Global...

“Mr. Gordon, Mr. Aldridge, Harold...” Jenna put on her most charming smile for Gordon. “I’ve already said you’d come. You don’t want me to lose face in front of Sophie, do you? You know how much my reputation means to me. If you make me look bad, I’ll never live it down with the younger crowd.”

Jenna, her face set in determination, replied, “Fine, Gordon. If you’re bold enough not to show up, don’t blame me if I take Sophie and we have our own kind of fun!”

At Jenna’s parting words, Gordon's brow furrowed slightly. She spun on her heel and left.

Rick couldn’t help but comment, “Sir, are you really going to let Ms. Jenna walk out like that? She might actually do it.”

Jenna was known for her wild streak. Back during her time abroad, she’d had a revolving door of boyfriends and had seen it all. Letting Sophie hang out with Jenna could only spell chaos.

Gordon responded calmly, “Let her be.”
