James was having a hard time recalling the person Sophie mentioned. It had been more than twenty years, and he only had a faint memory of someone like that.
"He's at the school."
Sophie's words sent a chill through James. Alec, sensing something was off, leaped from his seat and bolted out of the classroom. James was right on his heels.
The other students exchanged bewildered looks. Everything seemed fine just moments ago, so why the sudden urgency?
Meanwhile, the chemistry lab was deserted.
At the back gate of Westbridge High School, a security guard was cheerfully greeting the chemistry teacher.
"Mr. Deston, heading out early today?"
"I've got some things at home that need sorting, so I'm leaving early," Isaac replied, his gaze cold as he drove out through the back exit. In the rearview mirror, Fiona lay unconscious, knocked out by ether.
"Sophie, Colby, you owe me, and now your daughter will pay the price," Isaac thought darkly.
Isaac turned on the TV, and within twenty minutes, James had issued a missing person alert on the news, offering a hefty reward. The internet exploded with shock that Devonport's darling little princess had been kidnapped.
At the same time, Isaac's picture was broadcast on TV. He hadn't expected James to uncover his identity so fast, but he wasn't fazed. With Fiona as his leverage, neither Sophie nor James would dare make a reckless move.
Fiona was his ace in the hole.
"Mr. Deston, why did you bring me here?" Fiona's voice cut through the air, sending a shiver down Isaac's spine.
