Sophie let loose a fiery tirade on Colby. Nearby, Adler and Jenna instinctively plugged their ears. Adler had never witnessed Sophie so worked up before, but Jenna got it. Pregnancy can really mess with your emotions, after all. Jenna remembered her own rollercoaster of moods when she was expecting—far more intense than Sophie's current state.
Catching Adler's smirk, Jenna tugged on his ear. "Hold your horses! I've got a bone to pick with you. What were you thinking buying all that stuff? Have you lost your mind?" she chided, pulling him aside into another room.
Meanwhile, Colby swept Sophie into his arms, leaving her momentarily speechless. "Hey, sweetheart, let's save the lecture for later, alright?" he murmured softly.
Pregnant and all, Sophie found herself with zero resistance in Colby's embrace. In no time, the two retreated to their bedroom. Once there, Colby gently settled Sophie onto the bed, his movements careful and deliberate. Maybe it was the pregnancy glow, but she looked more captivating than ever.
"Colby, don't get any funny ideas," Sophie warned, placing a hand on his chest. Colby, usually cool and collected, had always been insatiable in matters of the heart.
Given that it took them two months to get pregnant, it felt like a small miracle to Sophie. "Just a kiss, nothing else," Colby chuckled. "Do you really think your husband can't keep things in check?"
"In this area, yes," Sophie replied, her serious look making Colby want to tease her even more.
"Alright, I promise I'll behave," he said, gently brushing her cheek. "I stocked up on all your favorite foods. Nutrition is key for moms-to-be, so I'm off to whip up some soup."
"What? Odie sent these?" Adler exclaimed, floored. "I had no clue the Mintons were into baby gear!"
"The Mintons are dabbling in everything these days," Sophie explained. "Baby products are their latest gig. They've gone all in and decided to send us a bunch of samples."
Sophie started checking out the boxes, stuffed full of baby essentials—pacifiers, diapers, a cradle, toys, and even educational games like building blocks and toy trains. There were even supplies for moms.
"Wow! If I'd known, I wouldn't have bought a thing. This stash will last us ages!" Adler groaned, kicking himself for not waiting a bit longer and saving on baby stuff. Grabbing Odie's freebies was a chance too good to pass up!
