Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1674

Sophie had often wondered what kind of face belonged to someone capable of such inhuman acts.

Now she saw it.

The person standing before her was responsible for the demise of the Shen-Xiao-Huo generation, leaving none alive.

This person was their true archenemy.

"You've arrived quickly."

Wesley sat atop the highest chair in the church, looking down upon them like a deity observing mere mortals.

"As per our agreement, let Julian and the others go," Sophie got straight to the point.

"Of course."

Wesley was surprisingly agreeable.

Sophie continued, "We've already agreed to trade the gemstone for their freedom. There's no need to involve Jenna."

"I never intended to capture her."

Wesley's tone was indifferent, "Honestly, dealing with you kids doesn't require much effort. I have a hundred ways to make you hand over the gemstone."

"Then why..."

She had experienced a past life and a present one.

Rebirth was a reality.

Wesley's gaze was piercing, as if he could see through all of Sophie's thoughts.

"This Earth has seen countless civilizations, it just so happens to be our turn. We think we're the creators of civilization, unaware that our civilization is far behind its predecessors."

He continued, "Have you ever wondered why Earth is the only planet suitable for human life? Have you thought about how, if the sun was a little farther away, the Earth would plunge into extreme cold, devoid of any life? And if the sun was closer, the Earth would be a fiery ball of magma, unsuitable for human existence."

At this point, Wesley smiled, "By now, you should understand, the birth of humanity wasn't by chance. We have no natural predators and have continued to thrive. Nobody can say for sure where we came from. Some say evolution, but over millions of years, tigers remain predators without evolving, yet we have created civilizations and even explored space. Everything on Earth seems to serve humanity. Some say we evolved to adapt to Earth, but no, it's the Earth that has adapted to us. And all of this, is because this world has a creator."
