Hearing this, Adler immediately asked, "You know? You know where Jenna is?"
"Back when I was in Summerfield, Odie had once used an underground passage to transport me outside a boutique. I think that passage in Summerfield wasn't built overnight; it's very likely a relic from The Silent Shadows, just like those twisted games at the Mintons' dinner party."
"Right! It's possible. You're so smart, Sophie!"
Adler's eyes lit up instantly, and he shouted to the people around him, "Go! Hurry up and look for any underground passages! You must find it for me!"
"Yes, Mr. Adler."
The others quickly began a thorough search.
Sophie, however, fell into deep thought.
"What's wrong?" Colby asked.
"It's still a bit strange."
Sophie looked around and said, "This place looks like Wesley's secret base. If it wasn't Wesley but May who brought Jenna here, then how did May know about this secret base? And everyone outside has disappeared. Your people said no one has left, right? So, when we came here today, the nanny and the maid... they've all disappeared... Could it be, they are also part of The Silent Shadows?"
Adler fell silent as well.
But he didn't have the mind to worry about these now.
He just wanted to know where Jenna was.
Sophie's thoughts deepened.
If that was the case, then what the nanny and the maid said during the day couldn't be trusted.
But why, why did the maid remind her of the kidnapping case from twenty years ago?
What was the person behind all this trying to tell her?
Sophie's head was pounding, feeling a whirlwind of thoughts incessantly weaving through her mind.
Yet none of these had a reasonable explanation.
"The most important thing now is to find Jenna. We'll talk about your issue when we get back, okay?"
Sophie was sure Harold knew something, or else he wouldn't have interrupted May repeatedly.
Just as Sophie was about to ask again, Adler came in from outside the corridor, excitedly saying, "Found it!"
Harold didn't dare meet Sophie's eyes, and when Sophie turned around, Colby also averted his gaze.
"You don't want to tell me either?"
Colby said softly, "I promised someone, to keep a secret. But more than that, I didn't want you to get hurt, Sophie. Forgive my selfishness, this is the only thing I don't want to tell you."
"What are you doing standing around? Come on out!"
Adler was somewhat impatient, pulling one person after another out of the room.
In the corridor, there was a round pedestal used for displaying items. With just a gentle twist, an underground passage would appear.
