Returning from the Dead: His Secret Lover novel Chapter 1756

Thinking of paying a visit to his grandmother, Allison patted her head as she suddenly reminded of something. She hastily got out of the bed, put on a pair of slippers and run towards the door. Alexander was bewildered at the moment. Yet she had run out of the room before he could figure out what she wanted to do.

Allison trotted downstairs and said hurriedly, “Lara, my parcel arrives today, have you received it?”

Lara nodded upon hearing the words, “Yep. I got several parcels and put them on the small balcony.”

Allison hastily ran towards the small balcony without even saying something to Lara.

She secretly heaved a sigh of relief when seeing the parcels on the balcony.

These were presents for Alexander’s grandmother. As she didn’t know which one suited her better, she bought several kinds of gifts.

Alexander followed her to the first floor, and then to the small balcony. When seeing that Allison was opening the parcels whole-heartedly, he asked with a helpless look, “What are you doing?”

Allison hastily turned around upon hearing him, used her body as a screen to block him from seeing the parcels, and replied in a weak tone, “These… These are the presents for grandma.”

Alexander was interested by her look and action, “What kinds of presents.”

“I don’t want to tell you. You’ll know it tomorrow.”

She reached out to push him towards outside as she was speaking.

Seeing her childish action, Alexander curled his lips into a smile helplessly, “All right, I’ll wait and see.”

Allison heaved a sigh of relief when he left. She came back to the small balcony, unwrapped the parcels, and then packed the gifts in gift boxes. After all these were done, she sighed in relief.

Since everything was prepared, she just needed to wait for the visit to his grandma tomorrow!

On the morning of the next day, Allison had been awake before the alarm rang. She washed herself in a hurry. Her heart had been thumping wildly early in the morning. She felt more nervous than when she was having an exam!

Allison didn’t come downstairs and have breakfast before everything was done. Just as she came downstairs, she saw Alexander sitting at the table, drinking coffee while listening to Bernard’s report.

Alexander nodded at Bernard when seeing her coming over. Bernard understood it and stepped aside.

Alexander spoke in a soft voice, “Have the breakfast first. We’ll set off later.”

“Well.”

Allison sat at the table absent-mindedly. She had no appetite in the face of such a delicious breakfast, which was quite rare. Just as she picked up a piece of bread and took two bites, Alexander put down his coffee and stared at her, smiling yet saying nothing.

Allison pulled herself back and hastily touched her cheeks, “What’s wrong? Is there anything on my face?”

Alexander seemed to be in a good mood. He asked, “Are you nervous?”

“No… Nope.” Allison denied it subconsciously, but her movements of stirring coffee still showed that she was flustered.

Alexander curled his lips into a smile, “Rest assured. Grandma is a very kind, she won’t eat you up.”

After finishing the words, he stood up and glanced at Bernard who was standing aside.

Bernard got his meaning and took a suit from aside, “Missus, you may change into this suit after the breakfast.”

It was a pink-colored Chanel style suit which looked elegant. It was a typical suit for ladies from rich families.

Allison took a bite at the boiled egg, lowered her head to take a glance at her white blouse, and then asked, “Am I dressing uglily?”

Bernard replied honestly, “It’s not ugly, but Ma’am may not like this style.”

Hearing the reply, Allison hastily stuffed the left half boiled egg into her mouth and took the suit, “I… I’ll go upstairs and change into this.”

A trace of smile crept onto Alexander’s eyes as he saw the woman running back to the bedroom.

As soon as the car was started, Allison looked towards Alexander who was sitting by her side and hastily asked, “What’s grandma’s living style? What should I pay attention to?”

Alexander was amused, “Didn’t you tell me that you’re not nervous.”

Allison stammered, “I… Indeed I’m not nervous. But I should ask you and make clear of some matters.”

Alexander curled his lips into a smile and replied blandly, “Nothing to be pay attention to. The most important thing was her first impression on you.”

Allison became even more nervous after getting such an answer.

If his grandma had certain preference and dislikes, she might pay attention to these and take effort to win her favor. But as for first impression, she was not certain about it.

‘Her grandson was so excellent, and she herself must be an outstanding person. But I was so mediocre. I don’t know whether I can win her favor and recognition.’ Allison thought to herself.

Allison was in a total mess at the moment. She leaned against the seat and looked out of the window with upset written all over her face.

In less than an hour, the car drove into a wealthy suburb. After passing the round-the-mountain road, the car finally stopped in front of a villa on the hillside.

Allison was surprised when she saw the magnificent tradition-styled villa through the car window,

The saying was true. She could never imagine the life of the rich.

She pushed open the door, got off the car, directly walked to the trunk, and took out all the gifts that she prepared before.

Bernard came over to help her. He couldn’t help sighing when seeing the big and small gift boxes, “Missus, what did you bring?”

“Presents for grandma!” Allison replied primly, “I bought her a massager, a cashmere blanket, and this, a foot washing machine! I’m so thoughtful, right?”

Bernard was rendered speechless and couldn’t help asked, “Missus, are you serious?”
