The crowd was stunned. A few spiritual stones could buy a meal at the inn, and a high-grade enchanted garment only cost about a thousand spiritual stones.
This made the sum of one million spiritual stones seem staggering. Many elders would struggle to come up with that much.
"You're betting with one million spiritual stones? That's quite a hefty wager for just a little bragging!"
As the sarcastic voice rang out, Alfie and Leila were seen walking side by side.
Swordity's higher-ups had paused the match to avoid interrupting the disciples from placing bets. The duo quickly headed over when they saw an opportunity to make quick cash.
As they approached, they overheard Sebastian announcing his one million spiritual stone bet and immediately jumped in to mock him.
Leila's face twisted with disdain, and her eyes were full of contempt. "Sebastian, you said you'd bet with one million spiritual stones? Have you even come close to seeing that amount?"
"What makes you think I can't come up with one million spiritual stones?" he shot back with an unwavering gaze.
"Well, I've sent someone to investigate you, and it turns out your mother used to make a living scavenging for scraps. Do you really think you have one million spiritual stones? I doubt you even have ten thousand," she said sarcastically.
Alfie crossed his arms with a mocking grin as he stared at Sebastian. "I know you're just trying to show off, brat. Your mother had to scavenge for scraps. I don't think that she could ever save one million spiritual stones."
Jameson and the others burst into laughter.
"What if I actually had one million spiritual stones?" Sebastian's confident gaze locked on Alfie and Leila.
"You have one million spiritual stones? Then, I've got ten million!" Leila scoffed and raised her chin in defiance.
She naturally wouldn't believe him. As the heiress of Swordity, her entire fortune barely exceeded 100 thousand spiritual stones. She couldn't believe that the son of a scavenger could be wealthier than her.
Alfie glared at Sebastian and snarled viciously, "I'll bet with you, too. If you lose, I want one of your hands."
"Sure. But if you lose, you'll have to cut off one of your own hands, too," Sebastian replied impassively.
"Deal. Now, take out the one million spiritual stones," Alfie growled.
Sebastian immediately pulled out a black card and handed it to Brody. "Swipe the card to charge one million spiritual stones."
Alfie sneered. "You're really committed to this act, huh? You think flashing some junk cards will intimidate me?"
"Yeah, that card's got to be fake," Jameson added. "I've seen Spiritual Cards from all the major merchant guilds, and none are black."
Leila's face went pale. "No, there is a black card. That's the Supreme Black Card from the Bejeweled Tower."
