Everyone rushed into the forest, searching frantically while calling out Faylin's name. However, they didn't find a single trace of her.
Leila felt incredibly smug. In her mind, her plan must have succeeded. Faylin was surely killed by Solomon after being defiled.
Now, all that remained was to find Faylin's body and pin the blame on Sebastian.
"Ms. Leila, we've searched everywhere and couldn't find Faylin," the group reported after returning empty-handed.
Leila glared at Sebastian and demanded, "Tell us! Where did you hide Faylin's body?"
Internally, she was cursing Solomon for not leaving the body somewhere obvious.
"What nonsense are you talking about? I never even saw her, let alone harmed her. Besides, why do you assume that Faylin has been hurt? Could it be that you're somehow involved in this?" Sebastian countered, raising his suspicions.
Leila forced herself to stay calm, retorting, "How dare you try to turn this around on me! You're truly despicable. I suspect that you killed Faylin because someone saw you come here with her, but now she's missing. It's obvious you murdered her and hid her body."
A female apprentice nearby quickly chimed in, "You must have been tempted by Faylin's beauty and lured her here to take advantage of her. Then, afraid of being caught, you killed her and destroyed the evidence."
"You killed Faylin! You have to pay with your life!" another person shouted in fury.
The crowd grew more and more agitated, especially the male apprentices, whose eyes blazed with anger as they looked at Sebastian.
Faylin was considered the most beautiful woman in Swordity, and no man could resist her charm.
Upon hearing the accusation that Faylin might have been assaulted and killed by Sebastian, their rage boiled over. The desire for revenge was clear on their faces.
Leila's accusations were simply groundless, yet everyone believed her lies. They were ready to condemn him without question.
Franz, still staring icily at Sebastian, declared, "Sebastian Wilder, your crime is unforgivable. As the sect leader, I must give justice to our fallen apprentice. I will execute you here and now. Do you have any last words?"
Sebastian's smile turned even more sarcastic. "I think the priority right now should be finding Faylin. For all we know, she's perfectly fine."
"Impossible!" Leila said coldly. "Someone saw you and Faylin come here together, and she has yet to come out. We've searched the entire mountain and found no trace of her.
"It's obvious that something terrible has happened to her. And since you're the only one here, who else could be the culprit, if not you?"
Franz nodded in agreement. His expression was stern. "Leila is right. You have killed a fellow apprentice, and the evidence is clear. As sect leader, I hereby declare that you will be executed on the spot to serve as a warning to others!"
