"Really? You've found her?" Sebastian's voice trembled with excitement. He had never shared any details about the person he was searching for, yet Stephanie had managed to find her. How could he not be overwhelmed?
Stephanie nodded firmly. "Yes, come with me."
In the northern slums of the city, two dilapidated houses stood precariously, barely holding together. Outside, a shed was piled high with discarded junk. A woman in ragged clothing was carefully sorting through the scraps.
Stephanie said softly, "I offered to bring her to live at my place, but she refused."
"Thank you," Sebastian said gratefully, then quickly walked toward the woman.
Even though it was just a glimpse of her back, and despite the passage of more than 20 years, Sebastian recognized in an instant that it was his mother. After all, she was the one he had longed to see day and night.
"Mother!" Sebastian called out softly, tears instantly blurring his vision.
Upon hearing that voice, Yuliana's body trembled, and she slowly turned around. The moment her eyes landed on Sebastian, tears streamed down her face, flowing like a broken dam.
"Sebastian, is it really you?" Yuliana's voice quivered, filled with disbelief.
Sebastian fell to his knees with a thud. "Mother, I've let you suffer all these years."
Yuliana quickly helped him to his feet, feeling that she was the one who owed an apology.
After a heartfelt conversation, Sebastian was shocked to learn that his father hadn't died and was also from the Perpetual World.
Over 30 years ago, his father, Billie Wilder, was being hunted and accidentally stumbled into a forbidden ground where he met Yuliana. After some time together, Billie brought Yuliana to the Perpetual World.
At that time, Billie's family was embroiled in internal turmoil, so he couldn't take Yuliana home and chose to temporarily stay in Skyde.
Later, Billie's enemies tracked him down, forcing him to take Yuliana back to the forbidden ground.
