"Sebastian!"
Fressia was shocked. She never expected Sebastian to jump without hesitation, especially into the Abyss, one of the three most dangerous places in the world. Was he truly unafraid of death?
Without giving it too much thought, Fressia leaped after him. If there was any chance of returning, it was through this abyss, so she was willing to take the risk.
Of course, having Sebastian lead the way gave her some confidence. As a demigod, he could handle most dangers that came their way.
The Abyss seemed bottomless, but luckily for Fressia, she was a pinnacle divine grandmaster. While she couldn't fly, the jagged edges on either side of the chasm provided enough footholds for her to descend safely.
On the other hand, Sebastian had it much easier. He could manipulate the natural energies around him to fly, making his descent almost effortless.
Yet, the Abyss was far deeper than he had expected. Even after dropping more than 328 feet, there was still no sign of the bottom. The further they descended, the colder and darker it became, as if they were heading straight into hell.
Given that this abyss was already part of the underground world, it wasn't hard for his mind to drift to grim conclusions.
By the time they had descended over 984 feet, the cold was bone-chilling. Even Sebastian, with all his strength, could feel the sharp sting of the icy air.
If it was affecting him like this, it was easy to imagine how much worse it would be for someone weaker. Even a pinnacle divine grandmasters would struggle to withstand this, which explained why no one ever made it back.
As they continued to descend with no sign of the bottom, Sebastian began to grow uneasy.
Could this abyss truly lead to hell?
Just as he was debating whether to stop, a shadow suddenly rushed toward him from the darkness at an incredible speed.
Reacting swiftly, Sebastian reached out and caught the shadowy figure. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a massive bat. It was much larger than the typical ones he had seen, and it weighed at least a few pounds.
