"Sebastian, you can't treat me this way!" Calix screamed desperately.
Sebastian let out a cold snort, his eyes as frigid as ice. "You dared to insult Princess Delaney. Now, you'll pay the price."
With that, he swung his long sword in a fluid motion. A flash of cold light swept across, and a searing pain shot through Calix's arms.
He fell to the ground, his limbs severed at the shoulders, blood gushing like a crimson fountain.
Calix writhed in agony, his screams echoing across the stunned crowd. No one had ever seen Sebastian act with such ruthless precision.
Expressionless, Sebastian looked at Calix without any sympathy.
"You promised to take only one arm! Why did you cut off both?" Calix's voice cracked with rage, his eyes blazing with fury as he lay on the ground.
"If I have to do it myself, then I'd of course take extra payment," Sebastian said coldly.
At those words, Calix's rage reached a boiling point, and he fainted on the spot.
"Mr. Wilder, you've caused serious trouble now," Delaney said as she walked toward Sebastian. She was anxious because she couldn't imagine the consequences once Calix's grandfather arrived.
However, Sebastian appeared unbothered. "Don't worry. Whatever happens, I'll face it."
"I'm just afraid that you can't take it," Delaney responded as she frowned.
"It won't be as bad as you think. Just go back and rest. I've got this under control," Sebastian replied confidently with a smile.
Then, he departed with Stephanie and the others.
Sebastian returned to the Supreme Merchants Guild just as Rainey returned from Aruna City.
"Supreme Lord, I've scouted Aruna City thoroughly. Everything Mr. Sylvan said was true. The city is prosperous and strategically defendable, but the governor, Lucian Greymoor, is a tough opponent.
"His family is highly influential, and his daughter, Jessa Greymoor, has ties to Violetta Sacred Ground. Taking over won't be easy."
"No need to worry. We'll try diplomacy first. If that doesn't work, we'll fight until they submit."
With that, he headed straight to the palace to request control of Aruna City from the king.
The city itself was a bustling hub, thriving as a waypoint for merchants and travelers.
When Sebastian and his entourage appeared outside the city, Lucian Greymoor, the city's governor, received word immediately.
"Mr. Greymoor, the Supreme Lord is here with his forces. What should we do?" asked Davion Greymoor, the governor's steward.
Lucian smiled coldly as he said, "For generations, Aruna City has belonged to our family. No one will take it from us, including you!"
"But the Supreme Lord is formidable, and he is very arrogant too! He's brazen enough to kill people from Gaudium Sacred Ground. If we resist, he might bring ruin upon our family." Davison said worriedly.
Lucian dismissed his concerns with a scoff. "All he did was rely on his Supreme Platoon. Although his skills are quite good, he's still just one man. We have over a dozen cultivators, who were all Lesser Deity Master. Killing him would be simple."
"Kill him?" Davison was shocked. "Mr. Greymoor, isn't that too risky? Even if we kill him, what about the people from the Crowned Dominion? Also, how are we going to tell the king?"
"What are you afraid of? Calix's grandfather is on his way now. Once we kill the Supreme Lord, we'll present his head to Mr. Guggenheim.
"As for the people from the Crowned Dominion, if they submit, then everything will be fine. If not, we'll let Mr. Guggenheim wipe them out!" Lucian said with a cruel grin.
