Remorse After Breaking Up (Sebastian) novel Chapter 1075

They had all heard of Vulcan, the legendary god of fire.

However, these were just myths. There was no proof such a being existed, let alone that one could curse a mortal family.

Irina saw their skepticism and rolled up her sleeve, exposing her wrist.

"Take a look at this," she said.

Sebastian and Delaney focused on her wrist, where a black flame mark stood out, almost like a birthmark.

"What a strange birthmark," Sebastian murmured, surprised.

He had seen odd shapes in birthmarks before, but never one resembling flames.

Irina shook her head with a smile. "This isn't a birthmark but a flame mark. Every member of our family has one."

To prove her point, Jaric also rolled up his sleeve, revealing an identical flame mark on his wrist.

"I have one too," Lucina added, showing a smaller flame mark on her wrist.

Sebastian and Delaney exchanged glances. At that moment, they were clearly very shocked.

If only one person had such a mark, it might be a coincidence, but every single one of them?

That couldn't be random.

Seeing the questions in their eyes, Jaric spoke up. "Every one of us in the Novak family is a descendant of Vulcan."

Sebastian's jaw dropped. If Jaric's claim was true, then maybe the stories of gods weren't just myths after all.

"If you guys are really descendants of Vulcan, then why would Vulcan curse his own bloodline?" Sebastian asked in confusion.

Jaric wore a bitter smile. "A thousand years ago, one of our ancestors got drunk and… well, he urinated on a statue of Vulcan, disrespecting him. That's when the curse began."

Sebastian began to realize just how devastating the curse was.

With each woman limited to one or two children, the family was bound to shrink over time.

If things continued this way, the Novaks would vanish within a few generations.

Jaric continued, "Actually, that's not all."

"What else?" Delaney quickly asked.

Jaric said, "Of the 186 Novaks alive today, 123 are pinnacle demigods."

"What?"

Sebastian and Delaney were stunned as their faces were full of disbelief.
