Gloria smiled and said casually, “Who knows?”

“How dare he! I can’t believe it!”

Gloria snickered and said nothing more. Nydia couldn’t help laughing. “They must be in a bad mood. They hate your guts and have been trying so hard to kill you, but now there is nothing they can do.”

Nydia saw through their attempts. If Gloria was killed, Jordy would not go easy on them anymore.

Gloria smiled slightly, “My darling, you’re so smart.”

That was what Jordy heard when he walked in. His face dropped and his sharp eyes fell on the door of Gloria’s room.

Gloria. “Make sure you wrap up warm. You can’t have any more health problems. The doctor will be here soon to change your dressing.”

“Okay, but I don’t feel cold,” Gloria smiled.

After Jordy arrived, he neither just walked away nor went back to the bedroom. Instead, he seated himself on the couch in the living room.

Flattered by her sudden pleasantries, the doctor bobbed his head.

Gloria came out of the bedroom, smiled at the doctor, and sat down on the couch in the living room.

Gloria was wearing a baggy coat open over a shirt on backwards. Nydia unbuttoned Gloria’s shirt, revealing the wound on the back.

Jordy stood there silently. His mouth tightened into a thin line when he was looking at Gloria’s pale, smooth back wrapped in gauze.

The doctor walked over to Gloria and asked with concern, “Ma’am, are you experiencing any discomfort besides the pain?”

“No.”

“Alright.”

After opening the medical kit and disinfecting his hands, the doctor proceeded to treat Gloria’s wound.
