Remarriage? Never And Go Away! novel Chapter 816

Chapter 816 Believing Gloria

“You…”

She swallowed back the words that had come to her tongue.

Her voice was low while Martha’s was loud.

“I made your favorite braised fish today. Take a bite.”

Angela took a deep breath and decided to wait till dinner was finished.

Claude was excited. “Wonderful! I'll try it.”

Angela was in no mood to eat. She couldn’t let her parents starve either and thus forced herself to eat.

The meal was torture for her.

She put down her fork and knife. Her parents wiped their mouths with the tissue. With a calm look, she started, “I want to ask you about something.”

Her voice and face were serious.

Her parents looked at her with confusion. Martha asked, “What’s wrong? You’re looking so serious.”

Angela laid her eyes on her father and asked, “What happened some time ago? How much longer are you going to keep it from me?”

Her parents changed color. Claude wrinkled his brows and said, “Everything is fine. Haven’t I told you? Why do you ask again?”

Martha was upset, wondering if her daughter had heard about anything in the office.

She didn’t believe a word from her parents. In a sullen voice, Claude said, “You don’t believe us? You want to see those things? Are we a family or not? Besides, even if I sold them, I should be doing profitable investments. There isn’t any project going on. Why would I sell them?”

Angela almost bought it.

On second thought, she didn’t think what Gloria had said over the phone was unfounded or a sheer Lie.

Gloria should know that she would ask her parents, and they would produce evidence. They would fight at most, and nothing would be affected.

That would render Gloria’s effort meaningless. They were a family, and there was no way Gloria could drive a wedge between them, so what she had said should be true.

Now Angela had all the more reason to believe Gloria. Her parents‘ moods were not right.

That kind of feeling was terrible.
