Reborn Through Fire novel Chapter 19

"Kisa." Lea called out in shock.

Gilbert was so shaken up that he subconsciously caught Kisa as she fell. "Wh-What is wrong with you?"

Perhaps even he himself did not notice his trembling voice.

Kisa stared at him dead in the eye and forced a smile on her wan face. The crimson bloodstain at the corners of her lips looked horrifying. "I'm finally dying. Gilbert, are you happy now?"

Gilbert subconsciously shook his head, eagerly trying to say something, but the woman in his arms slowly closed her eyes. All he heard was Lea's crying and screaming and Sharon's voice calling for a doctor. As if he did not hear all that, he carried the woman in her arms and ran straight to the emergency room. He accidentally knocked down many people as he ran, looking like a madman in the eyes of onlookers.

The emergency room light came on, and he was barred from entering.

Sharon pulled him to sit on the bench and comforted him. "Kisa has always been in good health. Don't worry too much."

He did not respond, just staring sullenly at the blood on his chest, his body tensing up.

No one knew how scared he was at the moment, only the slightly trembling hands giving him away.

Lea was filled with grief and anger, and she cried and yelled at Gilbert, "I long said that she would die. Why didn't you believe me? Do you know that those pills are the only thing that can prolong her life? What you knocked down was not just a bottle of pills but her life. If anything bad happens to her today, it is on you; you're the killer!"

"Enough. Stop talking. Gilbert is also worried. He didn't expect this either." Sharon could not help but say.

She gritted her teeth and continued to persuade him. "Andrew is still small and weak. You should go to see him. Don't let his condition deteriorate further. Besides, my sister has just entered the emergency room. It will probably take a while—"

Before Sharon finished, Gilbert suddenly stood up and walked toward Andrew's ward without a word.

Just as he left, another doctor came over. "Which one of you is Kisa's family member? I need you to give your consent for an emergency operation."

Lea shot a look at Sharon before following the doctor away. 'That b*tch claims to be Kisa's sister, but she is more sinister and vicious than enemies.

After Lea left, Sharon stared at the emergency room door with frosty eyes and a sinister smile on her face. 'Kisa, you really shouldn't have lived for the past five years. It is you who make me do this.'
