Chapter 1402 You Hate Me Again, Don’t You?
Kisa leaned against the rubble weakly, staring at the figure shrouded in a faint light. She did not dare to move. She feared that the figure would disappear like a bubble if she moved.
I’m having a hallucination. Am I dying? But… At least I get to see him.’
Suddenly, Kisa did not feel so afraid or helpless anymore.
She smiled at the figure and muttered, “Will you blame me for not protecting our child?”
The man appeared in front of her as soon as she said that. He knelt down and stared at her without blinking. Under the faint light from the phone’s flashlight function, the man’s black eyes looked like coal.
Kisa looked carefully into his eyes; there was resentment behind it. She then could not help but smile sadly and said, “I guess I really hurt your feelings, huh? Look at you. You look so angry still, in my imagination.”
All of a sudden, Kisa burst into tears. “I’m so sorry… I’m so sorry… I didn’t mean to hurt you, Gilbert. I didn’t mean it…”
While she said that, she reached out her hand, wanting to touch his face.
But she was scared that she would destroy the illusion in front of her, so her hand stopped mid-air, and she dared not touch him.
“You hate me again, don’t you? It’s fine… I’m about to die in here anyway…” she said while she looked up. Her vision was becoming hazy, and the ceiling was crumbling. Dirt and rocks kept felling from above.
Mrs. Mullen Sr. only had a small injury on her forehead thanks to Arthur, but she could not stop shaking and shivering from the shock. She looked at the destroyed land and shouted, “My husband
My husband is still in there…”
Arthur hurriedly supported her and said, “Don’t worry, grandma. The search and rescue team is doing their job. I’m sure grandpa will be fine.”
Though he said that, Arthur’s words did not reflect how he actually felt; he was uncertain about his grandfather’s safety as he gazed upon the ruins.
A number of paramedics also arrived at the scene and started to treat everyone’s wounds. Kelvin’s right leg had been hit by a rock, and it was covered in blood. His head had suffered many injuries, but he did not bother to get it wrapped up. Instead, he limped toward the ruins and started frantically searching through it to find Kisa.
