Reborn Through Fire novel Chapter 1383

Chapter 1383 Mysterious Basement

Carrie, taken aback by Kisa’s intense gaze, yelled out in anger, “What the hell is with the creepy stare? Are you trying to give me a heart attack or something?”

“Shh, she’s right behind you… long hair, no face, she is… right there… behind you,” Kisa’s eyes widened with fear, her expression so genuine it was almost as if she had actually seen a ghost.

Carrie shuddered in fear, her scalp tingled with terror. “Aah…” she cried out, quickly scurrying behind Leon, pointing at Kisa and shouting, “You scared the crap out of me! What’s wrong with you? This is the Mullen family, a respected household. We don’t tolerate such childish pranks!”

“I’m not lying. I really saw her,” Kisa replied, her voice sincere. Suddenly, she pointed at the sky. “Look, it is the moon! The cold, icy moon.” Everyone looked up, but instead of the moon, they saw the setting sun.

Mrs. Mullen Sr. quickly looked to Mr. Mullen Sr. “What do we do now?”

Mr. Mullen Sr. remained cool and collected, offering a reassuring smile. “I think Mrs. Kooper hasn’t been getting enough rest lately. She’s just experiencing hallucinations.”

“Grandpa, let’s take Miss out and have Dr. Hoover check her out. If anything happens to her, we will have a hard time explaining to the Kooper family.”

“Hmph, if it is hard to explain, then so be it. The Mullen family isn’t afraid of the Kooper family, are we?” Leon snorted in disdain.

Jaqueline chimed in, “It is not quite that simple. Because of David’s deception, our family’s standing has already taken a significant hit. If we cause trouble with the Kooper family again, we risk becoming even weaker, leaving the door open for our enemies to strike. That’s not a risk we can afford to take.”

Isaac sneered, “Is Jaqueline complaining that Vivian trusted the wrong person in the past?”

Jaqueline tried to explain, “No, that’s not what I meant-”

Just then, Mr. Mullen Sr interrupted their discussion and barked at Leon and Isaac, who were standing motionless in front of Kisa, “What are you standing there for? Hurry up and take her to the basement to rest

Basement? Kisa’s heart skipped a beat. Why is Mr. Mulien Sr so determined to take me to the

basement? Could the trap be there? After all, in my state of madness, it would be better to go out as Mrs.

Mullen Sr. suggested and let Kelvin take a look at me.”

Kisa clenched her fists, feeling a bit worried.
