Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 71

Morgan's smile held a trace of bitterness as his lips trembled slightly. His eyes, however, were filled with disappointment.

He was doing this on purpose—showing that he was happy for Hayden while trying to make himself appear pitiful. It was all to make the Sterling family feel sorry for him.

"Morgan, don't worry. You'll make it, too. You'll get into the university you want someday," Lily said as she tightly held onto his hand with a look of determination.

"Yes, my son is the best. You'll shine in the SAT!" Charlotte added confidently.

"But what Hayden achieved is amazing, because he gets guaranteed admission. That's a real honor for our family!" Morgan sighed deeply, forcing a bitter smile. He seemed envious, yet the achievement felt just out of reach for him.

Everyone could feel Morgan's disappointment, and they fell silent, lost in their own thoughts.

Suddenly, Francis called out to Vincent, who was standing off to the side. "Come back here!"

The principal hurried over like a rabbit, wearing a nervous smile. "Mr. Sterling, what can I do for you?"

"That Hayden—regarding his guaranteed admission—I want you to do something about it. Make sure my son gets the spot instead," Francis ordered coldly with an imperious tone.

The Sterling family members' eyes widened in shock. Was this possible?

Only Morgan showed a slight smile, looking a bit smug. His goal was to take everything away from Hayden.

"Uh, that might be difficult. This high-profile case is getting a lot of attention nationwide!" Vincent's face went pale as he spoke nervously.

"Yes, yes, he did!" Charlotte nodded eagerly, as if she had caught hold of an opportunity. If it meant making her son happy, she would do anything.

"Alright, go ahead and handle it. I'll make another trip to Riverside High to confirm the status of the spot myself," Francis said, his voice sharp with determination. "It's so much easier if he doesn't want the spot. But if he does, I'll pay for it."

With that, the group made plans to head back to Riverside High.

Meanwhile, the Riverside High teachers had realized their mistake and wasted no time in contacting James and Serena after having a quick review of their records.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs Caldwell. Your son scored a perfect score in math on the mock exams! Congratulations! Several prestigious universities are interested in offering him guaranteed admission!

"So, could you come in when you have time and speak to Hayden to help him decide?"
