The vendor didn't even look up as he replied, "It's 200 dollars for one and 500 dollars for three."
"What?"
Hayden and Christina were stunned. Their eyes glazed over in disbelief.
200 dollars for one? Was this daylight robbery? It was outrageous!
Hayden hadn't even received the cost analysis from the food processing plant yet. The pricing hadn't even been set.
And yet, these street vendors had not only set a price, but it was a ridiculously high one.
"Are you buying or not? If not, move along! Don't hold up the line." The vendor grew impatient and waved them off.
With no other choice, Hayden decided to buy one for research.
"Here's the money."
He handed over the cash and took a Twilight Cake.
The moment he saw it, his expression darkened.
"What the hell is this?" His mouth twitched.
…
Meanwhile, a sleek luxury motorhome pulled away from the airport.
"Wade, Dean, this is my son, Morgan. The two of you are a little older than him, so take good care of him, alright? Otherwise, I'll be having a word with your mothers. Got it?"
Bianca's voice was warm but carried authority. She wore a fitted dress, her figure elegant and refined, and she exuded the demeanor of a true socialite.
Wade's and Dean's mothers were her closest friends. Back in the capital, the three women were practically inseparable.
"Don't worry, Bianca. We'll look after him." Wade Wilder smiled.
Seated in the back, he and Dean Steele exchanged knowing glances, their lips curving slightly into smiles. They were young, confident, and carried themselves with the effortless arrogance of the elite.
That would have been a promising sign. After all, a spark of curiosity was a step toward solidifying the arranged marriages.
She was worried. If neither Wade nor Dean took a liking to their fiancées, the entire alliance could fall apart.
"So, where do you guys want to go? I'll be your guide!" Morgan eagerly stepped forward, offering his assistance.
"That sounds good!" Wade and Dean nodded.
They weren't far apart in age, and conversation flowed easily between them.
Watching the three young men bond, Bianca finally smiled.
This looked promising.
But the next words out of Wade's mouth made both Bianca and Morgan freeze in place.
