"Alright. I'll take care of everything!" Morgan's voice was filled with excitement.
Without wasting a second, he gathered the 13 streamers for a meeting. Once again, he raised their salaries and improved their benefits while urging them to work harder and even put in extra hours.
The news had the streamers grinning from ear to ear, and they were thrilled beyond words. After all, they were getting a pay raise and better perks for no apparent reason. Who wouldn't be happy?
But Morgan never told them what kind of terrifying livestreams awaited them next.
Then, he kicked off a massive promotional campaign for his company, generating hype everywhere.
Even Hayden and the others caught wind of it.
…
Finally, the next day arrived, and the live streams were about to begin.
Curious about what Morgan was up to, Hayden and Christina clicked into one of the streamers' rooms to see for themselves.
"Holy crap! That's a lot of people! Did this hit the trending page?"
Christina was stunned, and her voice was laced with surprise.
"Damn! This guy really knows how to stir things up. The stream has just started, but there's already a huge audience waiting! What's he up to this time?"
Hayden frowned slightly, an unexpected sense of unease creeping in.
After all, this wasn't just any livestream. It had a staggering 100 thousand viewers right off the bat. On-screen, a strikingly beautiful woman appeared, chatting away like she was the show's star.
"Alright, my lovelies! Today, I'm treating you to something special. It's something you've probably never seen before! This is something most streamers wouldn't dare to eat. Any guesses?
"It's escargot! Watch me take them down today!"
"It could be fake," Christina muttered, her brows tightly furrowed.
So, they kept watching.
The streamer was unfazed. She kept chatting casually, her face glowing with happiness.
And why wouldn't she be?
Morgan had promised a massive pay raise—so much that she wouldn't have to work for years if she didn't want to.
What was one meal of escargot in exchange for that? The worst-case scenario would be a hospital stay, but medical expenses were hardly an issue for the Sterling family.
Finally, after about 20 minutes of simmering, she exclaimed, "It's ready! Time to dig in!"
