Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 318

Meanwhile, Christina's family sat around the dinner table at home, chatting and laughing.

Soon, the conversation shifted.

"Christina, did you come home with Hayden today?" Melinda asked curiously, her gaze fixed on Christina.

"Yes, we happened to be going the same way," Christina explained.

"That young man is very impressive. The future is bright for him!" Aaron praised.

"Yes, your father and I both think that. At the very least, he will become a prominent figure in our city!" Melinda said with a smile, glancing at Christina, her words filled with meaning.

"Probably. He is indeed very capable." Christina didn't hide her admiration, agreeing with their assessment.

"Your father and I both like him a lot. If you two become family, that wouldn't be so bad," Melinda suddenly remarked.

This was the conclusion she and Aaron had come to after discussing it.

Hayden's future was so promising. With his excellent academic performance and his success with his short video account, he was truly outstanding.

Such a talent was rare and hard to come by. He would undoubtedly be the best choice for a son-in-law.

However, their words immediately left Christina in a daze. She stared blankly at her parents, feeling a bit disoriented.

What was going on? Why were they talking about this?

"Dad, Mom, did you misunderstand something?" Christina asked awkwardly.

"Why are you feeling awkward? You'll be in university soon, and you'll want to start a relationship," Melinda quickly countered. "Since you and Hayden are both in the capital, and you know each other well, why not give it a try?

Aaron and Melinda exchanged glances and stopped pressing the matter.

The family fell silent as they continued eating.

The next day, Hayden went to pick up Christina as usual, and they headed to the company together. He ran into Aaron and Melinda at the door on their way to work.

"Hayden, come in for a drink! We've just made some omelets!" Aaron invited warmly.

"Yes, come in and sit with Christina for a bit," Melinda said.

"Mom, it's already so late. We should be going to work, not stopping by for a visit!" Christina said, shaking her head helplessly.

Ever since their previous conversation, she felt like her parents' every word to Hayden had an ulterior motive.
