Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 285

Hayden explained again, but Benjamin remained silent. He looked Hayden up and down, his gaze filled with wariness. Something wasn't right.

"Did you sell the one you bought last time?" Benjamin asked directly.

"What?" Hayden froze slightly.

"You had the real gem, so you asked me to make a fake one. You could pass it off as the real gem and sell it. No one would suspect that. You're quite sharp to come up with such a clever trick to scam people!" Benjamin said with a hint of praise.

Hayden couldn't help but frown, feeling a bit helpless. "I didn't sell it. I lost it," he explained.

"What? You lost it?" Benjamin was shocked again, looking utterly incredulous. This excuse was quite unique.

"It's not necessary to lie to me. I'll make it if you want. It's still business, after all. You can transfer the payment directly, just like you did last time." Benjamin waved his hand dismissively, unconcerned.

"But there's something different this time. I need it tonight, or by 8:00 am tomorrow at the latest," Hayden said seriously, his expression solemn.

Benjamin's expression changed slightly, and his eyes scanned Hayden up and down. He couldn't help but scratch his head, feeling even more suspicious.

"Are you messing with me? How long did it take for you to get the gem last time? You're asking for so much this time, saying that you want it in such a short time. Are you kidding me?"

A clear hint of displeasure appeared on Benjamin's face, though he was trying to hold it back. If he hadn't remembered David's words, he would've thrown Hayden out by now.

"I'm not joking. If necessary, I'll settle for a lower-quality one. This is really urgent. I need a fake gem!" Hayden explained immediately, his expression turning solemn. His attitude became extremely sincere at that moment.

He opened the short video app at home and carefully watched content from a particular account. It was the short video account of Hayden's company, featuring Christina in the video.

The number of likes had already reached 100 thousand. Hayden saw that the comments had reached 300 thousand, and the shares had surpassed 500 thousand.

"Not bad," Hayden said, smiling slightly and feeling fairly satisfied.

The video had turned out just as he'd expected. Then, he opened the comments section to see what people were discussing.

As expected, all the comments were positive. As for the slanderous ones, they were thoroughly roasted by sharp-eyed viewers.

Hayden turned off his phone with satisfaction and got ready to rest. Tomorrow was Francis' birthday party. It should be quite an interesting event.
