Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 249

Although Christina was beautiful, Hayden remained cautious because she was still in contact with Lily. Moreover, Christina only signed the contract with him because of the high salary he offered.

In fact, he even made a backup plan. Should Christina turn out to be up to something, he could play that to his advantage by using her against Lily instead!

James and Serena couldn't help but chuckle when they saw Hayden's awkward demeanor. They assumed he was just being shy.

After dinner, the family began to wind down.

Meanwhile, Hayden followed through with his suggestion and moved the gem to the kitchen.

While everyone was sleeping, several ill-intentioned individuals were lurking nearby, searching for the gem. They were those who witnessed Hayden extracting the premium emerald from the raw gem.

However, they were unaware of the many guards stationed in the vicinity.

James was the one who stationed them there personally. These guards were among the best in the nation. They quickly apprehended the intruders, then broke their limbs and sent them to the hospital.

The night passed quietly for the housing complex.

The next day, James and Serena left early in the morning.

Hayden just got out of bed and was getting ready to take the gem to the auction house. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Hayden thought James and Serena might have left something behind, so he answered the door in a hurry.

When he saw who was at the door, his face darkened immediately. The hatred in his eyes was obvious.

It was Julia, Anna, and Charlotte.

"Get lost! None of you are worthy of being called my sister!" Hayden barked once more with disgust.

"That's enough." Charlotte quickly stopped them, her eyes filled with sorrow as she signaled Julia and Anna to stop the argument.

After that, she held out the oatmeal and omelets once more, offering them to Hayden with a pleading look.

"You just woke up, didn't you? Come on, don't go hungry. Eat up while it's warm," Charlotte offered once more.

However, in the next instant, Hayden swatted the food out of her hands and kicked it, sending them far away.

The oatmeal spilled everywhere, resulting in a revolting sight. Meanwhile, the omelets were coated in dirt, filthy and unappetizing.

For a moment, Charlotte, Julia, and Anna were all dumbstruck, frozen in disbelief.
