Later, Hayden went to the market, selecting some seasonal vegetables and buying a pound of pork. He bargained skillfully with the vendor, carefully inspecting the produce.
From a distance, Christina froze in place. Could he really be this good?
He didn't look that old, but he acted like a housewife!
She hid behind a stall, observing.
He was so absorbed in his task that he didn't notice someone was watching him. It wasn't until he was carrying the groceries downstairs that he felt something strange, causing him to turn around.
He saw her in the corner, staring at him in shock.
Christina's eyes widened, clearly surprised. She swallowed nervously, wondering if she had been spotted. Trying to stay calm, she slowly walked toward him.
"Excuse me, do you live in this building?" she asked softly.
"Yes, is there something you need?" Hayden asked, intrigued. He sensed something was off with this woman—she seemed to have been following him. Thinking back, he realized she had been trailing him since the market.
"I'm a live streamer, and I think this neighborhood has a lot of vintage charm. Could you point me to the most nostalgic part of the area?" she asked, smiling sweetly and looking at him earnestly.
"Just walk to the end. There's a big locust tree," he replied, pointing north.
"Is it beautiful there?" Christina asked.
"It's not about beauty; the tree is over a hundred years old and very large," he explained. "You said you wanted to see something with a vintage feel, right?"
"Ah… okay. Could we be friends on social media?" she asked, hopeful.
"No, I don't use my phone much," Hayden politely declined.
Christina's lips curled into a smile, and her mood lightened considerably. She immediately took a photo of herself.
Then, she set her phone up and started dancing in front of the tree, capturing the moment on camera.
Meanwhile, Hayden returned home, his mind still uneasy.
That woman seemed familiar, but where had he seen her before?
His memory was sharp, and he quickly remembered—he had seen her in a photo from his deskmate, Roy.
He quickly messaged Roy, "You showed me the top ten campus beauties from Stonybrook before. Can you send them again?"
He was certain he had seen her there.
