Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 213

"Alright, before you go to the capital again, let's go one more time!" Francis ruffled Morgan's hair, a loving smile on his face.

Suddenly, Charlotte's voice cut through the air, cold and piercing. "Morgan, I don't know how to make fried chicken."

Her face wore a smile, but her eyes were like swirling vortexes, filled with intense fury.

"Huh?" Morgan was startled and quickly moved to stand behind Francis.

"What are you doing here? It's so late. Why aren't you asleep? Who are you trying to scare?" Francis was a bit surprised and looked at Julia and Charlotte in the garden. He hadn't expected to find them sitting there at this hour.

He had nearly slipped up earlier, which had made him furious.

"I was bored, so I came here for some fresh air." Charlotte slowly stood up and walked toward Morgan.

She placed her hand on his head, patting him just like before.

She had put so much effort into raising him, yet now he hid his true identity. He knew his biological mother and that he was Francis' biological son, but he chose to deceive her.

"Mom, what's wrong?" Morgan nervously asked, sensing the subtle change in her.

"It's nothing. I just missed you. You wanted fried chicken, right? I'll order a delivery. But when you said your mom's cooking is the best, which mom are you talking about?" she said jokingly, looking at him with a meaningful smile.

"It… it was when I was taking a nap. I dreamt about you making it!" He quickly made up an excuse, trying to brush it off.

"No, we can't alert her yet!" Julia immediately advised.

"It's just a casual encounter. What's the harm? Just a glance from a distance will be enough," Charlotte insisted firmly.

Julia felt helpless, knowing Charlotte's stubbornness. Once she made up her mind, there was no stopping her.

Inside the villa, Lily was live streaming. Her mood was low, and she seemed distracted, indifferent to the yachts and airplanes filling her screen as her subscribers gifted her gifts and tokens.

"Darlings, I'm really feeling down today. My sister was bullied. When we went to ask for an explanation, we ended up being threatened! You should've seen it—that guy holding a kitchen knife was so violent! Why doesn't he just die? He's really annoying!"
