"Why is this happening? Why! Why didn't I find out sooner? If I did, it wouldn't have come to this!" Charlotte choked up as tears flowed uncontrollably.
She couldn't hold it in any longer. Burying her head in her arms, she let out her sorrow and pain.
Julia stood quietly by, not attempting to comfort her. She could feel how much pain Charlotte was in right now.
Could this really be resolved with just a few words? Especially now that she knew about Hayden's past in the Sterling residence.
It was unbearably tragic. Hayden was basically living in hell. He had been treated coldly, only to leave in despair.
Half an hour later, Charlotte finally cried herself out. Her tears had dried up. She took a deep breath, forcing herself to become stronger. She knew there was still so much to be done.
"How many people know about this?" she asked, her tone growing cold.
"Anna knows; only Lily doesn't know yet. Anna wants Hayden to return, worried about Morgan taking over and threatening us! But I'm more concerned that we won't be able to fight back. Securing part of the Sterling Group's assets is the most urgent matter!" Julia cautiously explained.
This was where she and Anna differed.
However, Charlotte didn't seem to pay much attention to Julia's words and instead looked at her in surprise. "Are you saying that Morgan also knows about this?"
Julia frowned, unable to stop herself from sighing.
As expected, Charlotte was too kind. Even now, she still thought Morgan was a good person when all along, he kept everything in the dark from them.
Reluctantly, she took out a photo of the three of them, which she had taken at Sapphire Heights.
Charlotte took a deep breath, feeling much better. "I'm fine..."
She shook her head repeatedly, her sadness overwhelming as she leaned on the table.
Suddenly, her gaze fell on the photo. She stared at the woman in the picture, growing increasingly familiar with her face.
"This… this woman looks like Bianca Walsh!" Her eyes widened in disbelief.
"Bianca Walsh? Mom, do you know her?" Julia asked, startled.
"She's my university classmate! She looks a bit older now, but her profile— the more I look at it, the more it resembles her!" Charlotte shuddered, a hint of anger on her face.
